Hello, Recently on smp7 we had a big problem with many Derelict reses of a close friend. One of my close friend went away on vacation. After the 14 days passed, his res became Derelict. A few days later, someone found his res was derelict and decided to force claim his res. I felt so bad for him but there is nothing I can do but ask to increase the Derelict status. I have asked some people on smp7 and other server and they felt that this was a problem too. If you feel like this is a problem please answer yes in the poll above. Thanks, Julie
The derelict status was actually increased from 10 to 15 days to help with this. But, if a player knows that they are going to be away for a long time, they can PM a member of staff to have it protected, you can't extend it for them.
If someone plans to go away for more than 2 weeks, the player should start a conversation http://empireminecraft.com/conversations/add with a senior staff member.
I feel sorry for your friend that he didn't realize we had a residence derelict protection system when people cannot access EMC they can get their residence protected for however many days they need :/ If he knew about it, then his res wouldn't of gone derelict and force claimed by another person.
I think it's more than reasonable. If you can't manage a quick login or even a PM every 15 days, you might need to rethink a few things.
It's hard to do that if something suddenly happens, when for a reason you can be on for awhile because of a computer problem or non planned trip that causes you to leave suddenly and for a while. You couldn't tell a mod to protect your res. Some people just need that time increased so they don't have to worry about their res being taken from them.
Most of the community has already made this clear, but I'll add this official post from the staff team. Residences can be protected during vacations by messaging a senior staff or admin. Due to the number of new players we have on the server on a daily basis, we must have a derelist system to prevent abandoned residences. The derelict time was recently extended to 15 days when we changed the system to allow for force claims. Supporters will remain protected as long as their supportership is active, no matter the time spent away from EMC.
