Shop Sign Codes - Enchanted Books

Discussion in 'Empire Help & Support' started by Rain90009, Jun 1, 2013.

  1. I am trying to add Enchanted Books to my shop but the item codes I get from doing /iteminfo don't seem to work. I have tried over 20 codes and none of them allow a player to buy or sell books. And yes, the book for its respective code is in the chest when a player tries to use it :)
  2. Have you tried using the [slot #] code?
  3. i have the exact same problem... idk what im doing wrong?
  4. I know the [slot #] can be used as a work around but it doesn't enable the full functionality of how shops are supposed to work.
  5. In what way?
  6. Touche, I dont understand why it isnt working, try looking at TerryDaTerrorists res (2515), I'm almost positive that he has his enchantments working without the [slot #] code.

Lets just say, i put the slot sign like a regular shop sign over the chest with the book inside it, and when people try to buy it, it doesnt recognise. I also put a sign that tells what type of book it is on the chest.
  8. Huh, well that is odd.

EDIT: Did you make sure that the [slot 3} corresponds to the correct slot number in the chest?
  9. Well... As soon as someone buys one book, I have to move another book into that slot so it can be sold. Also, it wont allow other people to sell books.
  10. Ah, to fix that put either [SLOT 27] or [Slot 54], that way, the shop will always look for the last slot in the chest and go back from there.
  11. You can attach a hopper with a chest filled with the same enchants at the back of the shop chest and fill the other slots with dirt. But that wont allow you to have people selling unless its completely empty. :/
  12. Did not know that - Thank you. However, people will still be unable to sell.
  13. Well, it is only a temporary workaround until Aikar get's it fixed nicely.
  14. So they are aware this is a problem and are working on a fix?
  15. Neither did I.

Rain90009, until Aikar gets that fixed im taking it that you will be making 2 seperate chests, one for selling and other for buying?
  16. Ohh, it might be because im putting the books in the firstt slot of the chest, not the 27th. Thanks:D

/iteminfo while holding a enchanted book gives you the item id. All enchanted books will have a prefix of "403-". for example Unbreaking 3 Book's value is "403-an". After putting that value on the 4th line and placing the sign, it will read "Enchbook-an".

This should act like any other normal shop sign, but I actually don't know if this works.
  18. Haha, thought something along those lines where happening.
  19. I thought about doing that but how do you set up a chest to buy an item that is undefined? And if you could do that (someone please let me know if this is possible) what stops them from selling anything they have for the price you are buying the book for? For example, selling me a carrot for 1000r even though it should have been Silk Touch I.
  20. It does not work. That is the problem we are discussing :)
