Gravel from Cobblestone or stone?

  1. I know this is probably a newb question, but is there any way to create gravel from mined cobblestone or stone? IMO, it would not be a cheat if you already mined the cobblestone or stone and wanted to create gravel. Any thoughts?
  2. No there isn't a way to do that. Just not how Minecraft works.
  3. I'm curious why you would want to do that? Gravel is pretty easy to obtain. I usually end up just throwing it away anyway..... Or using it to traverse the nether.
  4. How to get gravel:

Bring shovel some 5k blocks in nether
    Dig up
    Go home
    Place useless gravel everywhere.

  5. Yes, there are large gravel deposits throughout the nether, as little as 200-300 blocks out. Bring a fire resistance potion or two if you go.
  6. Real funny amused...you guys are hilarious. I just thought that if you need a huge amount of which I do...gravel is just ground up cobblestone and wanted to see if you could crush cobblestone to make it. This is a discussion area correct...well I am discussing. Oh well I have gotten a lot of it by mining it and will just mine more.
  7. Thanks chickneer for the info.
