Custom Map Ideas

Hi everyone.

I am in the proccess of making a team PvP custom map. i have a basic idea of what i want the map to look like and i have a creative world that has all the redstone technical aspects i could use.
However i am having trouble coming up with the rules/scenarios for which the games to follow. i know i want it to be a arena based game and i have some ideas for objectives but i want to ask you, what do you think makes a good PvP game what do i need to incorparate into the game to add a challenge other than just killing everyone, and what do you enjoy about other PvP games (doesn't have to be minecraft PvP games)

Make a Halloween PvP map, or a factory PvP map; I can do the custom texture pack and skins for you.

My original idea was going to be a frenatic factory sorta map. and a custom texture would be great!
