Earlier today I started up my laptop and went over to get something to drink.When I came back I saw that windows didn't start up, so I turned my laptop off and turned it back on. My laptop turned on and HP started correctly but windows never showed up for some reason.Everything was working 1hour before this happend to my laptop.I don't know what the problem is and that's why I made this thread, does anyone knows what went possibly happend to windows? And is there a way to fix it? Or do I have to get to get my laptop repaired.Thanks in advance Xandrow Ps. I won't be INGAME for few days, or atleast untill my laptop works again
Nope, my laptop aint beeping and I didnt get blue screen of death. I don't know what it is and I'm not good with PC' Only thing I know for sure is that HP starts, and windows dosnt
Maybe a boot sector virus? I'm not sure, you didn't drown your computer in crapware, did you? I'm going to go on the assumption you didn't.
I didnt have any unnecessary programs installed. Spamhaus said I had gotten a Zbot/Zeus, could that explain this?
Okay, now I don't think it's a boot sector virus because you would get Blue Screened. I think your hard drive might have been wiped, perhaps due to an error. Now, this requires a trusted friend or relative, who is okay with you installing software onto their computer. My suggestion is you install Ubuntu for the time being, BUT if you have your Windows disk, reinstall that. Anyway, if you don't have access to Windows, follow the instructions here to install Ubuntu via USB. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows
That doesn't sound like the symptoms of ZBot to me. It's a keylogger, so it's designed to access and steal information, generally banking information. The problem is that the symptoms are too vague, I know you don't have much to work off of, but that's why computer viruses suck, I'll Google the symptoms, see what I find. How can I install ubuntu when I can't access anything? I tried to format my pc but nothing showed up. :s
I haven't downloaded any thing lately tho Or I did download world downloader and gamemode changer via minecraft forums tho. But I always download those without nothing happens
Like I said, it requires a friend or relative okay with you installing the software on the computer so you can make a bootable instance of Ubuntu on your USB.
Have you tried hitting F8 on boot - It should give you the option to repair Windows - Let it run - If it's a boot virus it'll reinstall the boot folder.
