Once people figure out how important an ender chest is, I think these will be in high demand.

They let you take your items out into the wild in total safety - by putting your expensive picks/armour etc. in one before you leave, and then just putting one down when you want it. Great for keeping a silk-touch/fortune pick handy, maybe an enchantment table and books... some diamonds in case you need to make tools and armour.

And of course, you can put your valuable ores and minerals in it, to bring home safely; you don't even have to walk home, you could just put your things in and "die" to get back.

The only catch is, when you break the ender-chest, you get the obsidian back but you lose the eye-of-ender.

So that's why they're going to be needed.

Or you can break it with a silk pick and still have it.

Yeah, true; you can get an ender chest with a silk-touch pick; if you use a normal pick, you just get 8 obsidian.

Highest bid so far is 25k, which is under 7.5 rupees per eye.
