The new chat system has really set me appart from the community. Now more then ever because i have a wilderness home. So i was out in the wild, feeling alone and sad when i thought to my self....geez, i would pay just to be reconnected to the world again. And i remembered, i do pay! Lol, building off that, i know that local chat helps a bit on server resources. As a supporter I and others are the ones really keeping the empire going and growing by contributing to those server expenses. Im not saying I or We own the place by any means, but we play a huge part . With that point made, i ask kindly, can gold and diamond support gain an option for server wide chat? An added perk as u will. Would be an easy change and would add a lot of load on the server for a couple reasons... 1. At any given moment (on my servers) thr are usually only 3-7 gold+ on. On a scale of 60+ ppl that is small. 2. It would be a command to enable so not all supporters would even have it on. 3. Please please please lol
One thing that may alleviate your loneliness somewhat is using the supporter chat channel (/ch s). This chat channel is still server-wide. So really, supporters already get the 'perk' you're asking for. I'm not sure if the supporter channel is turned on by default or not when you become a supporter, so make sure you type /ch join s so you can hear that channel and /ch s so you can type in that channel.
The Supporter channel won't activate automatically, that's why most people don't even know it exists.
I appreciate your feedback Leowaste, it is feedback like this that has made EMC so awesome! I am not sure if I am for or against doing this, I could see the pros and cons on both sides.
I agree with Leowaste that we should have access to the channels for Gold+. However my reasons include that on my server smp3 all the supporters are usually not in town and we cannot help police town chat when there are no mods on. It would be nice to be able to talk to people in town while I'm in the wild and stop people from spamming and being rude in chat.
I must admit, I was shedding a tear last night as I felt I was playing Single Player instead of SMP on a great community server. My plans include longer in the Wild so more of that I guess, however I'd also forgot and didn't realise Supporter chat is there. However, as some might say, think of the non-supporters. I'd say what about including Wild chat, but then, there's never that many people actually in the Wild or Nether anyway, so.. *Shrugs*
