The Minecraft Council (Members Only)

smp4 is about to launch, everyone gather tools and get ready to kick off this new server with an ambush on the new wild resources! move a bit farther away from the spawn so you get better resources.

also, i have some people who are going to find the end portal. so we can also loot the stronghold before anyone else

I am Greg6880 and would like to join the council. I can collect many ender pearls... and many stone (i am miner, diggy diggy hole). i usually explore the uncharted areas to see if i can find some things that have been untouched like caverns or a stronghold. grid mining ftw.

i have already found a portal. but bring a potion for fire resistance because the spawn for the end is full of lava, i lost tons of items from the freaking lava there

collect stone quickly, i found an npc village on smp4 and i want to gaurd it with a wall

You can make mob spawners??! Why haven't I heard of this before??

The only time I've ever found mob spawners are in either Nether Fortresses, or Abandoned Mines.

Oh, and Gokou's right. We shouldn't go rushing into brand-new servers and just start ripping all the closest resources out. Stick to your own server and let the newbies enjoy the virgin wilderness of SMP4.

Still, I don't see what the problem is with people digging holes to get to underground resources. That's part of minecraft, you dig holes to progress in the game. Duh.

And environment, my foot, IT'S A DIGITAL WORLD! I don't have to save a single tree or squid if I don't want to.

Heck, I could go way out to a forsaken island and blast it to kingdom come and no one would complain. Sheesh...

ok guys, we ARE starting to build a mob spawner like the OoO, we need all members of the council to collect cobblestone and obsidian, and torches if you can.

The mob spawners being referred to here are not the type which spawn from a cage, instead they forced to spawn into a dark room and are funneled to an exit, usually with water, and then disposed of by a player or trap.
Of course we let people dig holes, it is a mining game after all, we just try to keep the environment clean and covered, so players don't die from falling down a hole on their way back to spawn area. In case you aren't aware, TNT is disabled on this server so you won't be able to blow your forsaken island to kingdom come, you can strip mine it to the earths core though, just please do it at least a few hundred blocks away from spawn

tjboy, I am going to say this- ruining the wilderness just makes it an eyesore. Imagine how nice it would be if going into the wild was like starting a new single player map, only that your friends could help you. That is how we should treat Minecraft. We all live in the digital world. Why not treat it like real life?

I would like to join I am good at building and I can collect a lot of irons . I have also already found 15 diamonds on smp4

Talk to tshack, but I'm 80% sure you can join. I'm going to say that you should collect resources (cobblestone, stone, and obsidian) for a mob spawner we're making on SMP2 and get minerals (iron, gold, diamond, lapis lazuli) for us to use in the central square we're making soon.

Basically what I'm saying is go mining.

ya. I know Thrime and I both found this abbandoned mineshaft thats full with redstone, lava, diamonds, iron and gold esc

Hey everyone sorry i was offline they swamped me with homework. You'd think they'd lighten up on homework this close to Christmas.

Teachers never lighten up on homework.

I believe we had this discussion elsewhere. I meant the "blowing it to kingdom-come" as an analogy for how the terrain looks after a clan of especially busy moles has been through. It's almost as bad as TNT... sometimes.
Though if I wanted to, I could just lure creepers over to one spot and detonate em. TNT au natural! ^_^

Agreed, but that's nature of the game. If you wanna build pretty things in the wild, or even make a nature preserve, go for it. I'm all for that. But if you're gonna get on everyone's case when they take 2 steps outside of spawn and go straight down, then tough! That's minecraft. We dig. We build. We thrive.

Personally I think it's rather fun to try to navigate the maze of pits and strange rock formations that encircle SMP3's spawn, but that's just my preference.
...Still, if you wanna go and fill in any unused mines or creeper-craters, feel free. We won't object. ^_^

Idk what world you live in, but mine is most certainly not digital.

As for treating the digital world as the real one, that's called escapism. Take your zeal for nature outside, where it belongs.
