I don't know if there's a reason that this isn't possible, but I think it would be really good if access signs could work when they are placed on the side of chests, instead of having to be placed on top of it. You would expect it to work because shop signs and preview signs can be placed on the side of chests. It might also be better for aesthetics if you could place it on the side.
Two reasons. First, it is confusing what the intended behavior would be. Example below. Second. What about existing setups as shown in the screenshot? Suddenly access is given to a chest that previously was not accessible. This suggestion will not be implemented.
Alright. But for shop signs, doesn't it assign it to the chest that it's attached to if there's a chest under it, too? Also, alts??
yes. That is for shop signs. But shop signs are not access signs. We cannot do a change in behavior here. Simply not an option.
