  1. So last Christmas I built a gaming pc but I couldn't afford a graphics card at the time so I used my old GTS 250 (1gb ddr3) I have recently decided I want to upgrade... I was always thinking I should get a nvidia card, but a recent deal has got me questioning it...

    So here is the options....
A: One 4GB GDDR5 Nvidia GTX 960 or 970 (I will wait for Black Friday if I decide to get this one)
    B: Two 4GB Refurbished Vapor-X Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support

The Nvidia Cards currently cost around 300 US dollars, and the radeons are on sale for about 135 a piece until the 22nd...
  2. I like nvidia =P

I have a relatively new GeForce card. Not sure exactly which one.

  3. I recommend the Nvidia GTX 960/970 (I do not own one but the reviews are positive). Also because I like Nvidia :p

  4. If it helps at all, I myself am likely to go for a 2GB GDDR5 Nvidia GTX 960 very soon, I was talking to MoeMacZap about which ones to get (based on price and value) and he found some really good ones at about 170-200 dollars I believe... He might be able to find the link for you as he lives in the US, but here in the UK it's a little more expensive (taking into account the exchange rates, compared to the ones Moe shown me and ones on the strandard sites here). Hope this helps :p

  6. This is what I was expecting lol. I know Nvidia is way better was just wondering if crossfirex with 2 amd cards would be better? Note: I use this pc for gaming and very light video editing (very very light)
  7. I meant I was getting a 2GB card, not a 4... I personally use mine for gaming too and I would prefer to use Nvidea, but I do have to say that my current Radeon does me justice so either way you shouldn't have any problems :) Make sure you have the space if you go dual AMD though, but I'm still going to stick to Nvidea
  8. with gaming go with nvidia

  10. I know this is a week old, but I just want to point out that you shouldn't be handing out advice unless you actually have something meaningful to say. Don't just fanboy over nvidia, AMD has some compelling offers too..
  11. I have already purchased an Asus Strix GTX 960 4GB GDDR5

That being said, I am still interested in your opinion on AMD, since I have a friend building a budget pc. Going AMD could save him loads of money...
