  2. The pictures are beautiful! I don't think you can showcase a vehicles image any better than how you have. Love the filters.

I was thoroughly surprised to see an Audi like that, never looked into older models, what year is it? That piece of machinery is eye candy. I despise the newer designs, I think they are butt ugly(I'm sorry, just my honest opinion).

  3. Haha! I just did some research on these Pandas. Such an awesome looking vehicle, it reminds me of a Chevy/Geo Metro design. Is this the 141a? and I was reading something about it being a 4x4, is that correct?

  4. You know it, I hope you've been looking forward to it as much as I have ;)
Thank you! I tend not to filter them now though. Now that I take a lot more photos, it's harder to go through them all!

The Audis in the original posts are Coupe quattro Turbo models and they were produced from 1980 until 1991. I don't know the exact year of the two featured in the main post but being the post facelift grille/headlight design and most likely being the earlier 10v engine type it puts them in somewhere 1983-1988ish! The older designs are definitely nicer than the newer ones, there's only a couple of the newer ones I'd consider. The RS3 and TT RS still use the glorious 5 pot Turbo engine which is good!
Back in the day it was just another box on wheels made to buy, potter around, do the shopping, and one day chuck away - now the ones that are left are truly cherished and the design is praised and loved by many! My red one is indeed a 141a, 141 being the first generation, the a signifying that it is the mk2 (141a 1986-2003 where 141 original was 1980-1986).

The 141 and 141a were both available as 4x4 variants, I do have a 141a 4x4 as well as my red 141a. The 4x4, which is green, has featured previously in this thread somewhere in off-road trip albums :p

Another Abarth 595, the 180bhp Competizione in a glorious yellow also visited the meet :)

So, after our initial meet we moved on to the hangars and other locations dotted around Kemble Airfield. I'll be sharing a few favourites before we move on to the Race Retro and Slip and Grip AV8 albums which are bigger more intensive ones that will lead us on to our next event for photography which will be in May! Here is the first hangar we visited with the cars as aforementioned :)

  5. The Pandas encasing the Abarths at another location in Kemble Airfield ;)

Before departure from the site, we took one last look at the cars and the planes in the background...

That's about it for favourites on this album, if you want to see more do visit the album link given a couple of posts up! Coming up soon on Fendy Photography will be the Slip and Grip AV8 pictures and after favourites shared from that I will be sharing the rally car Race Retro pictures so stay tuned! :)

  6. As promised, Slip and Grip AV8 pictures are here! This meet was the one that I had planned to go to initially at Kemble Airfield, and it's the first one I have been to, despite hoping to go to one of last year's. Unfortunately, due to a couple of troublemakers, the events are on hold and are being hosted elsewhere, but it was great to at least get to one while they still did them!

In normal fashion, we will start off with the link for the full album: https://www.facebook.com/pg/fendysphotos/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1642258049201566

Starting off, the owner of Slip and Grip has a lot of beautiful cars and many of them available for hire at track days and touge racing, this glorious Subaru Impreza Type RA being his latest addition! I think these look awesome!

Something I really wasn't expecting to see was this mk1 Fiat Punto GT, a rare sight now, and a shame because I really like them!

  7. The owner's partner drives this very nice Mazda MX-5. I think quite a lot of people modify these in quite a similar way and it doesn't always look good but this one looks great, I think they pulled off the look very well, it's not over the top and looks suitably cool!

And I suppose because it looks so good, we can have another of the owner's Type RA Impreza ;)
  8. As you can tell, my classic Panda still hasn't had a wash in a while... still, prime spot, and still looking good

What really set of the picture for my Panda was the fact I could pan it out to a shot with the Impreza RA too... and a plane!:D Though it is an airfield after all ;)

  9. No meet is complete without a mk2 Escort! This one looked particularly striking in Rothmans rally livery...

And a classic Mini is always at these events too, this one was particularly clean!
    607 and luckycordel like this.
  10. The interior of that classic Mini was just as beautiful - it's usually quite hard to get an interior shot and I rarely do them, but this one was more than worthy!

An Astra mk2 or even a mk3 can be a rare sight nowadays, but to see this Vauxhall Astra mk1 was quite the pleasant surprise! It's great to see what comes out at events like this :)

  11. A couple of weeks ago, it snowed in the UK, which is fairly unusual! My Panda 4x4 would be the perfect vehicle suited to the weather, though it is currently off the road for repairs which is a shame... I also had a work car so couldn't take any pictures with my red 2wd Panda, so the snow passed by the time I had it back of course!

Fast forward to last night and it snowed again, which is quite extraordinary, so I took the camera and went out in my red 2wd Panda Fizz for some photos - and my did I get some good pictures :D

Therefore, I'm going to interrupt the Slip and Grip meet pictures and share some of my favourites from today's outing in my Panda. Enjoy, we'll be back to Slip and Grip later!

Album is also featured on the Facebook Fendy Photography page as usual, as seen here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/fendysphotos/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1660814030679301

  12. Great! :D

  13. As I've cracked open the snow viewing, we will crack on with that and get back to Slip and Grip later

The snow drifts take you by surprise - this road was a very wide one before, but now it has turned into a single track road because of the wind blowing the snow up high on one side! The Panda still made it through with ease ;)

  14. My parents married in a Fiat Panda. :)
I wonder that my father fit in at all, as he was 2m05... :p At least it doesn't look like this car has got a lot of room for the legs, or the head. I'm 'only' 1m94, but in some cars my head touches the ceiling, and if I move the seat down too far it'll be on top of the person behind me, so I just have to endure...
    luckycordel and FDNY21 like this.
  15. The old type? Any pictures of the Panda? :D Roughly calculated, 6 foot is 1.83m, and I fit in a Panda easily! It looks a small car but I fit comfortably, I imagine someone even taller would still be comfortable too but I don't know to what extent that goes! Ooh, definitely not a lot of room for rear passenger legs though... ;)

    More snow pictures!

The sleepy village of Castle Combe snowed over... had to feature this pretty awesome looking Porsche Carrera as well!

  16. Front end shot at Castle Combe - this place is great, and truly magical in the snow...

Never really been down to the lower village even though I've been to the upper part so many times, such a secluded area, quiet, peaceful but really really lovely!
    607 and luckycordel like this.
  17. Some interesting signs upon entry to lower Castle Combe...

And, perhaps the best picture I've ever taken of my red Panda, this shot coming downhill from Combe circuit down the single track lane. Thoughts? That's it for this album, back to Slip and Grip soon! :)
    607 and luckycordel like this.
  18. It's been a minute since I first saw it, and I'm still uttering exclamations about it and showing it to family! :p Amazing picture, Fendy!

  19. Glad to hear you like it, 607, thank you! I am really quite proud of it especially, I can't believe a picture I took so quickly came out to be one of the best I've taken. I was coming down the lane in my 4x4 last year and thought it was pretty magical with the trees looming over both sides like that downhill, and when I went down in the Fizz just the other week I thought it was a brilliant photo opportunity. I quickly got out the car, took a couple of snaps, got back in and moved to the next location - couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how well it came out when transferring pictures :D

    ---

Back to Slip and Grip now! We got to the blue Astra mk1, so we will pick up where we left off with this picture of a group of TVRs scouting out the meet at Kemble Airfield...

One of coolest little cars to ever exist in the world - this Fiat 126 BIS! Being the BIS model, this boasts water cooling, a slightly bigger engine and an accessible boot at the rear with the engine underneath as opposed to taking up the whole rear as with the 126p :)

  20. Such a rarity...

I'm not a fan of BMWs, but this one gets my vote! BMW Z3M Coupe! Also a very rare car!
