There are some game development BTEC courses I can do at a nearby college, but they all require at least a C grade in Maths GCSE. Since I have discalculia, I cannot see myself getting that, and I don't know whether or not these colleges will allow me to use that as an... 'excuse'. Sixth Form is much easier to get into IMO, but I've heard terrible things from people who do it.

Kind of depends what you want to do after I guess! I'd recommend working backwards from where you want to be. Obviously BTECs are supposed to be specialised, but I'd worry that a Game Development BTEC would be a case of specialising a bit too early? It just seems a bit of a narrow subject, and so employers/universities might prefer you doing something a bit broader, maybe?

I don't plan on going to Uni (God knows how much the Tories will make it cost when I can join one). I'm fairly certain I'm going to be either joining the RAF (probably not as a pilot, as I have a minor case of long distance eyesight :P), an apprenticeship, or jumping straight into a job. I plan on building up my own indie company at some point, hence why I want the experience a BTEC would give me.

Don't do anything too specialised to start off with. An apprenticeship of some sort would be good if you don't go to uni because employers would prefer that over other things.
