Over here they're kinda forced. They did stop doing the one you get in Year 10 a few years ago, but it appears that they've brought them back in time for me to be ready to have one >.>
This is the tetanus, diphtheria and polio all-in-one right?I had to have it when I was in year 10 a few years ago, it was never stopped for me ;/. But don't worry its hardly anything - just a little prick and there are little to no side effects - I never saw what the big deal with the jabs were haha :)
Deadmaster, it not about the needle itself... I watched my hand get sewn up. :-P Docs and nurses were surprised they didn't have to hold my hand down as I was not flinching.
I have a fear of needles solely because the last time I had a jab (they were testing me for Diabetes :P) they had to wiggle the needle around inside of my vein. It kinda hurt.
(I didn't even know the needle was inside me btw, the numby creamy stuff worked better than expected :P)
A nice very sharp razor sliced the palm of my hand, down to the bone. no perm damage, but the cut and all the needle holes and thread lines can still be seen where they had to stitch me up.
I may have lost my form for them... which is great, seeing as I cower in fear at the sight of a needle. Its bad because I support vaccinations a ton but its hypocritical of me not to want one :P
:P I hate them as well, but I'm thinking of it in 2 ways. One, it'll be "in and out" within seconds, and secondly I'd rather go through it than have the illness itself :) Just try not to worry about it, you'll be just fine!
I used to be afraid of needles a little before I had my jabs, it's just psychological! Once you have it done you will realise that they aren't as bad as what you thought it would be and as Sam said ^^, try not to worry about it :)
Electrical shocks when rewiring outlets, much more painful. Jamming my finger in the door, much worse. Slipping down stairs on my head.. waaaay worse. And to why I watched my hand be sewn up... cause my palm was cut down to the bone.
Some would. But when its at night, its easier to have the lamp plugged in, as compared to a flashlight. Also, I can easily tell which is the ground and live wire...somehow... :-P OSHA doesn't exist in my house.
I've had one electrical shock. My thumb was wet and I thought it would be a good idea to touch exposed (and prematurely cut) bulb-wiring in my globe. The pain is explainable. I keeled over clutching my thumb and fell onto the floor while my whole hand felt like it was on fire.
This is why nobody loves electrons.
Alright so like I said, here's my review :P The Tetanus, Polio and other (can't remember what it's called) one was painless, I'll just say that the Meningitis C one hurt quite a bit more :P
You might have had another vaccine for something else at the same time sam, saves having 2 appointments. I have no clue what the other would be for though.
So... 4 days. I handed my permission slip in today. Time to find some Beta blockers somewhere. I may also need some numbing cream so I can lather my whole right arm in it.
