Basically, all of the breakers are turned on. We've reset the problem breaker multiple times and haven't gotten any reaction from it. The issue is, the problem breaker links into my room only and a bathroom (it's kinda away from everything else.) We've used a tester to determine that there IS indeed power going through the breaker, but once it gets to my room it doesn't seem present.
We tested every outlet in my bedroom and none of them are receiving energy. However, the one outlet in the bathroom IS receiving power, so we assume that it's on a different line from my bedroom, even though it's linked to the same breaker.
So, earlier this month we found that one of the outlets is reacting to anything plugged in (it's shooting sparks.) So we had ceased use of that outlet, but we just took it out today and it's fried to the core.
So, what we're hoping is that, similar to old Christmas lights, if one of the lights (outlets) is broken, then all the lights (outlets) further down the line turn off since the one in front of them isn't getting any more power.
It's not a great plan; if replacing the outlet tomorrow doesn't fix it, then we'll have to get a professional to come in, because the wiring itself is more than likely messed up. Guess we'll see. :3
And this probably should have been included higher up, but the lights in both rooms (my bedroom AND the bathroom) are completely dead. They aren't working at all, so . . . yea. :3
Well, the one thing that isn't terrible is that I'll be leaving for college in about 8 days. But still, I want to play on EMC. So yea, hopefully we can get this resolved the easy way. c;
