Yes. I don’t think I’ve ever had a phone that didn’t have GPS tbh, how do you use Google Maps and stuff?

My phone doesn't have a positioning system at all, so I just have to look for street names (usually not too hard either, to be honest), but there are plenty of devices that do have a positioning system that don't have GPS.

It seems that even new iPads do not have GPS.

I met a girl who has a recent smartphone and she claims that her phone does not have a positioning system at all, unless she turns on mobile data. Then again, she might be mistaken, as she also believed that she couldn't use mobile data at all, as she uses prepaid, and for some reason she thought that you can't access the internet on prepaid.

That's partially true. Unless you download the section of map you're in on Google Maps, you do need to use mobile data/wi-fi to see where you are.
