You logged in recently so I know you know we updated. 81 people server-wide right now. Not sure what you seem to be talking about here, but negativity like this is you being a part of the problem.
its nice to read your quick and cheery response ;) As freshmen, my friends and I would gather to play EMC all night long, and now, as seniors, we started up again due to the quarantine. We logged on 3/19 around 9p and on SMP8, my friends and I were among maybe 5 other players, a drastic decrease from years ago, as server would be full. My friend, who had not logged on in at least a year still had her res on smp7
I didn't mean for you to feel as if i was being negative or insulting, I am just commenting on the differences in leadership and the community, and reminiscing for the times I could log on at the same time and have a laugh with members of the community. As I saw someone describe on a thread a while ago, EMC (especially smp8) was like having neighbors talking across their yards and having fun.
I hardly consider expressing my feelings regarding the old culture and community of EMC as being "part of the problem", perhaps just a member of 4 years reminiscing about the past
My comment was intended to shine a light that you as a community member have the most power to make change happen for the issue of neighborliness you talk about. If all you do is complain about it not being what it was, then it never will be. The players like you need to focus on making those relationships with other players again.
After reading threads and scanning forums, I do believe my word choice holds up. I did not directly call you corrupt, I believe it was interpreted as that.
I am also, not merely complaining. As I already stated, I am starting to become more active on EMC now that I have the time. By bringing other inactive members on the server, I am attempting to create a more neighborly "vibe". Again, I am not solely complaining, but reminiscing (esp about the fish ;D)
You called the server corrupt. The server which I am an admin for. I don't take the insult personally. I take it as a comment against the server, and something that as an admin, I need to either clarify it with you as an invalid statement or figure out what is wrong and fix it.
So since your stand by your comment, can you send me actual details in a private message so I can actually investigate it.
I believe that some leadership contributes to it. There is nothing to investigate, as I'm sure anything I have seen or heard that confirms my opinion is already knowledge to you.
Something else that I'd never experienced in the past was sharing an opinion on my page and getting a standoffish and a perhaps snarky response by the CM. You mentioned "players like you", but we have actually never spoken. As a player with no previous history of drama or disciplinary issues, I feel that the tone was uncalled for. Perhaps this is something you can consider to help player-CM contact in the future :3
And here is another part of the problem. If everyone assumes I know the problem and no one tells me what it is, I can't fix it. I'm not a psychic. I ask for details to fix problems and no one sends them.
If you want to be a part of the fix, message me. Include details and dates/names. If you don't, then I can't potentially fix the issue.
There is an entire thread that you responded to multiple times. If you would still like a link to it, I can supply it for you. I provided a suggestion: adjust the tone and aggressiveness with players. I have shared views in the past about the community and have not received a response from you. This interaction is not leading me to want to be a part of this community again.
Details and suggestions include pming players if a status concerns you instead of dragging out arguments on their pages, using a different vocabulary or tone, not dissing players in secret, or perhaps ignoring it altogether and letting players express themselves. As the first conversation I've had with you, this we can agree that this is not a positive one and in the past would be out of character.
With regards to your comment about my response here, you come on the website and publicly complain about the server being corrupt. So yes, players like you is then meant to be all players who complain and are negative about the server. Also, we have had many interactions over the years Bunni. Unless this account has changed ownership, I have had plenty of contact with you.
I made a comment in June of 2018 "complaining" about the level of drama on the server and heard nothing from you, despite the issue being so great that an entire section of the forum became monitored and had an "opt in" process. The only contact I remember having with you was requesting access to the controversial topics forum when it became monitored.
Even if we have had plenty of interactions that I may be forgetting, none have been negative. So I don't understand why you responded so defensively from the start, and even now.
Because you called the server corrupt. You used a term which means acting dishonestly. You made a statement that the server that I manage is acting dishonestly.
You don't walk into a company and start publicly saying they are corrupt without someone taking action. That's what you did.
Heya rhxa! :) We've actually seen a lot of increased activity lately, it's been nice. I gave away over 10 stacks of Marriage Fish during some previous Firefloor events, so don't worry about a shortage of those. ;) You should pop in for an event sometime! I'd love to see you in-game again :D
I am not expecting no action to be taken, but again, I feel that from a grown woman and admin of this server, the action was not appropriate. We have been discussing this for more than an hour with no progress, so I am going to bed. My statement stands and my suggestions do as well. EMC has always meant a lot to me, I've been playing since my 14th bday, but this conversation was eye opening.

In some minds it may not be appropriate, and in others it's long overdue. I'm not going to quietly stand by while you publicly degrade this server. You complained about drama in the past and I made a change to fix it. That's what my job is. I fix the problem, and sometimes the solution isn't the one with hearts and flowers and is harder to hear. I hope you'll send me some usable info, or stop the slander.
For clarification: Addressing and putting a stop to slander role specifically. Rarely, but unfortunately someone has to be the 'bad guy' and enforce that line when certain vocabulary is used. I don't expect the Mods to take that burden. If anyone wants more info on this, feel free to pm me.

Only bugs in my bed are furry and 80lbs (dogs). Glad to hear it wasn't meant as slander/libel, though I'd be more careful in your choice of words for the future because the word by definition is problematic. Players see these statuses in the list and don't always click to read the comments.
So they see is an established member calling the server 'corrupt' and that's it. In the server world, that means bans without reason, your stuff being taken, etc.
Yeah I know what you mean :( I came back recently too and all my friends who were long time players of like 4+ years moved on from EMC.. apparently a lot changed while I wasn't on...I still see familiar faces but it still sucks my close circle is mostly gone, I have them all on discord so we're still able to play off EMC so at least I got that 😛
We were just reminiscing of the old days and how fun they were and how cool the old staff was too... maybe things will change in the future? Who knows....I hope so though :)
