the side number is their ID. so you can accurately track one Blizz at a time.

No, that's what the "chunks" are for.

chunks dont help either, it said 1 chunk, and then a sec later it said 7 chunks. :/

That's what those numbers are for. Different blizzes have different ID numbers. The 1 chunk message and the 7 chunk message were probably from 2 different blizzes, that's why the messages were seconds apart (if it was just one it would take a minute or so to show the message again).

Use those numbers to tell one Blizz from another, and track each of them separately.

When Blizz's initially spawn in ("The area is getting colder."), they will spawn on the same height level as the player that triggered the spawn (so if you are on height 64, the Blizz will do the same, somewhere in a loaded chunk near you). Sometimes the player that triggers the spawn will be deep underground...

The chunk distance simply indicates the chunk where the Blizz is, whether that be on the surface or nestled somewhere in a ravine deep underground. I've slain over 25 Blizz's so far simply by finding the 1 chunk or 0 chunk distance and scanning the area briefly. Then narrow staircase mining downwards within the 'chunk' zone MC states in F3.

Some Blizz's can be very hard to find, it may be better to just try other Blizz Ards in other areas to at least get some kills in, before tackling much harder Blizz hiding spots. :D
