I'm with kephras and thakloned. Can you imagine how many people we would discover exist if twitter and facebook down. Maybe we would find out that there are actually over 50billion people now and not the measely 8 billion that is touted. XD

I suspect a hyper-exaggerated take on "everyone is too busy staring at their screens to see the world around them."
Personally, when I'm driving to/from work and more than half the people I see walking along have their heads tilted down, nose buried in their phone, I beg for a portable EMP device.

@Kephras AMEN I remember when writing on someone's wall was done so with a can of spray paint :P We had to go out doors, hop on your bike and ride around to friend people.

I would love to have that EMP device for 1 day on my bus and watch the entire bus scream in terror XD

I don't even use Facebook that much (usually just checking in on old friends who I don't see any more), and when I had a phone, I'd use it to just listen to music and shut out the sounds of the bus I was on, because sitting on them with a bus full of chavs tends to be detrimental to you ear health (it was also a good half-hour rest after 7 hours of school).

It's very rare I see a person using phones like that when they have other people with them. It's just a 'pass-the-time' kind of thing here, I guess.
