Oh? I will have to check out the history behind that. The 17th century saw a lot of legislation that heavily effects us today and, in my country at least, no one seems to know about it.
England conquered Wales in the 1100s, and then Great Britain was formed in 1707 (I think?) after the unification of the English and Scottish crowns. We then became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, but Ireland separated in the 1920s. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland then formed, with the Queen being the Queen of Great Britain and the Commonwealth Realms.
As it stands today: The UK is a country made up of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is made up by England, Wales, and Scotland, all of which have devolved parliaments and are different countries. The only title that still exists with them is the 'Prince/Princess of Wales', which is assumed by the heir apparent. It's really quite confusing >.>
