I converted the dungeon room that I was holding my villager breeders in until after much thought I decided to dismantle the villager farm. I have since converted the space into a mushroom farm. I have planted blocks of mycel in the room to help with mushroom growing. However, I wonder, do mycelium blocks and/or mushrooms creep in the dark? Or will I need to illuminate the room?
Will I need light to get the mycel to grow like grass? Or will I need to farm enough mycel to cover my room?

Mycelium also dies under the same conditions as grass: when covered by one of the light-impeding blocks above and the light level at that block is below 4.
