What should I buy

  1. Depends on what your current laptop is. Could you link a webpage that shows the specs and model number of your laptop?
  2. If you're going with a gaming laptop, you just need to know that they aren't good at being both. Trust me I have one myself and battery life is awful a good hour at best. As for being a gaming laptop, heat is an issue. Got to make sure it's well ventilated all the time.

I haven't had experience with external graphics, just tread lightly on what is possible. If it were me, a true desktop is preferred, tried and true piece of machinery.

  3. The Razer One X is not compatible with that laptop - it doesn't have a Thunderbolt connector on it, that I could see.

Also, the Razer One X is basically just a box with a cord. It does not come with a GPU already inside it - you have to buy one of those still. To make the usage of a Razer One X worth it though, you would need to spend at least $200 on a GPU. You are better off taking the $300 from the Razer One X and $200+ for a GPU and saving up to buy a better laptop or desktop.
