I want to give everyone the use permission at my lot but it would be nice to be able to keep a few door (or like objects) locked shut so that they cant be opened (lets say an animal pen). Could it be possible to have lock signs used in town for free. You could give container flags to people you know really well but then lock one or two for your super valuables too.
The idea to separate doors from use permissions has already been submitted and is in the list of things for Aikar to code As for the containers, that is what access signs are for.
If you want people to only have access to certain chests put a sign above it saying [ACCESS] on the first line and then there name on the second
I personally want it for a select number of trap doors and doors. I have a mall at my lot with 7 mini shops that have respective items in them according to their names ("Everything Aggressive", "Everything Passive", "Wools and Dyes", "Construction blocks and Ores", etc.) and in the back of each of them their are counters where the person in reality would buy their stuff. Behind the counters are npc villager so people can trade items with them as they please. The counters have a trap door built on to them to be the way people get in and out. I don't want those being opened; Being able to put a lock sign above them would be very nice.
I'm confused by what your trying to get at here. If you don't want people to have access to your chests don't give them container perms
Look, if you have a close friend, lets say a brother, who you want to have all flags on your lot. but there are some very very very very expensive items (say dragon eggs, stacks of diamond, stacks of circle stone, stacks of TNT, etc.) you want to keep safe and the /vault just isn't big enough to hold all of them. i think it would be nice to be able to lock a chest from everyone and still have all of your chests able to be open. Need more explanation than that?
