So I'm not sure how many of you guys do themed auctions, but I've recently decided to try a few. But I've come into a problem within 5 minutes of thinking up ideas. Blocks can't be mixed in chests. I think that blocks should be allowed to be mixed in DC as long as they are both A.) Stacked to the maximum B.) Listed with how many and which blocks they are This would open up possibilities like chest art in auctions, and I do have to admit, that would be pretty dang sweet. I ask that NO ARGUMENTS take place, and if you criticize me in the comments in a way that targets me directly, I will report. Hope you guys enjoy and give me your feedback!
This is a good idea, but this would create whole loads of chaos with tracking how much of each item is contained in each chest. Also, there would be issues with estimating the value of the chest, it would be easier as it currently is. This idea also leaves a gap for error with not having a stack completed, and then the entire auction is invalidated because of a mistake.
Personally, I think auctions are created because the auctioned item is somewhat difficult to find a buyer. Single and multiple stacks of items are much simpler to sell so I don't see a point in making an auction for one stack of sand. -1
I feel like this would be a cool idea, but at the moment auctions function by the buyer wanting that specific auction. Say its a dc of 4 stacks of diamonds and 50 stacks of dirt. Someone may want the diamonds but not the dirt at all. I feel that auctions work better sticking to one object, but I am not saying this is a bad idea, just doesn't work in my mind with the way EMC is atm.
For reasons that people have said about my suggestion, the minimum requirements are in place to keep too many auctions from being created at once. The EMC staff were quick to reject a SC minimum requirement of any type of block, for example, for the simple reason that it's too few of a kind. -1
I DO NOT want that to happen. Every single time I go on the forums, the active threads are full of auctions. Plus, some people who don't format the auction right, with these new rules, it could get confusing. -1
It's not just a stack. It's still a DC of blocks all stacked, therefore changing only the fact that the items can be mixed.
Minus one for me. When I auction an expensive item like a dc of gold blocks or a diamond voucher, I want my item to be at the top of the list for as long as possible. This would create way too many auctions. IMO, if you want to auction something, go get a dc of it first. That makes it much easier for buyers to find what they are looking for as well. If you want to mix and match items for a themed sale, just use the products, businesses and services thread.
Auctions are for bulk or special items that would otherwise have a harder time being sold. There's plenty of shops that will buy smaller quantities of wool (which I'm assuming is what you're talking about) and I feel auctions should be reserved for the large quantities of individual items. Just my 2 cents, of course
