You can build simple vanilla village style houses, or you can build huge fantasy or futuristic constructions. To outline the disallowed things: floating roads, pixel art (unless it is a part of a building like graffiti or a huge painting), floating mob farms (need to be hidden in a building or simply built outside the outpost), floating platforms in water and air without support beams or something to make them look natural (I've noticed they are very common). Builds in different style (fantasy and sci-fi) should have space between them to make sure there is a transitions between styles. Please, try to not build blocky houses from a single block type, at least add a roof and glass windows. Other than that, anything is fine. The goal is a clean looking area where people can build their bases, populate the world, and get access various public farms I will build. There is also an ice road in the nether, leading to the nearest nether hub, so you can quickly access the town and come back.
