Outpost Name: Zalidon Owner: ChrisTheHylian Server: SMP7 Let me get something out of the way now: The only player made settlement nearby (less than the required 3000 blocks) is Northridge, which is owned by me. It's required that if this 3000 block restriction is not met, I must have documented permission of my establishment from the other owner. I hearby permit myself for establishment Now that that's out of the way, let us begin. While most people typically only include the information above, I'm a bit...different in the threads I do, as I'm sure many already have noticed. I wanted to describe just what Zalidon is, as it's more than an outpost or settlement. Zalidon is a small town/village pretty far away from other civilization. I was wanting to do something for my friends and I to act as a retreat from the life in Town, so this first came into the form of Lakeside. Lakeside, as many know, was once the largest active settlement on EMC, however failed to become established last year. Because of this, the 100+ citizens quickly packed up and left, and some even left their belongings. Lakeside, even to this day, is a ghost city. Only a small handful of residents remain, and sadly, I am not one of them, as I gave up and tried elsewhere. Then came Northridge, a smaller town pretty far out, based around 500-1000 blocks away from my old out-of-town base from 2015, Hytopia. This place seemed to be in the perfect location, however it was...missing something. Soon, the small group of people quit going out there, and soon I did too. One day, however, I wanted to revive Northridge. I went there, and saw that there wasn't much potential left there. We all had our houses, and it was a rather small field. I grabbed my horse, and began the trip north in search of new lands. That's when I found...the place. A massive field that was bordered by flower forests, dark oak forests, birch forests, mountains, and a jungle that was separated from the field via a river valley. It was the perfect spot, and I let all my friends know. I began to set up shop, and soon, the Northridge group as well as a few new additions came out and settled. This place is also special. When I first started EMC in 2015, I had found my first horse with 120%+ speed, ever on Minecraft. I named him Pixel. When trying to cut through the birch forest to the south, my game glitched out and Pixel passed. I mounted Pixel for the first time in June of 2015, nearly two years ago. He was special. To memorialize my travel companion that, without him, wouldn't have found Zalidon, a grave was constructed in Zalidon Field. I will never abandon this place, as it now holds a piece of me and my experience on this magnificent server. This is how Zalidon came to be. I bet you're wondering where Zalidon came from, aren't you? All my other settlement names were pretty spelled out; Lakeside being on the shore of a small lake, Northridge being far north by a mountain ridge, but then there's Zalidon. The field in which Zalidon resides in is filled with horses. I wanted to name it something involving the creatures. I did some research, and found out that the Basque word for horse was zaldi, and thus Zalidon was created. Zalidon is far from complete, as we intend on expanding, and completing homes, stables, and countless public utilities. While the location of Zalidon remains a secret to the public, it will soon be open to all who wish to lay their eyes upon it. Unfortunately, at this moment the Zalidonian Reigning Council (government of the outpost) isn't accepting new citizens at this time. We'll be accepting new residents after our revealing ceremony (date to be announced)!
