Nether Spleef
  • Netherspleef are traditional games of Spleef with a Nether theme. It is only hosted by staff.

    Origin and history(top)

Netherspleef was first built by Dark_Liz on SMP1 in EMC's early days. It was lost to an early reset, but was rebuilt and relaunched on May 28th, 2013 and used at various points by various hosts until 2017 (/v netherspleef). As of 2017, Netherspleef can be found on the Games Server, in its third design variant.

    Gameplay(top)

The main arena will open when a round is ready to start; make sure to listen to staff Instructions so you know when this is. When it starts, players will be able to destroy the floor with their fists, which is typically made of carpet so that it can be broken easily. The objective of the game is to be the last player standing in the arena, meaning that it is advantageous to attempt to make other players fall into the lava below by breaking the carpet beneath them.

In some rounds, the host of the game may choose to make carpet disappear over time, whether by removing all of one color or by causing the carpet to randomly disappear over time in a manner similar to FireFloor.

When you fall, you will teleport back to the entrance of the platform.

Once there is a victor, prizes are sometimes given out, as decided by the host.

Other information about the SMP1 arena(top)

Note that upon falling into the lava in the SMP1 arena, you will die and lose any items located in your inventory. Therefore, it is a good idea to put any items that you do not wish to lose in the Ender chests located by the entrance of the arena.

To leave the Netherspleef area, you must return to the Town using one of the teleports located near the entrance of the arena, or die in the lava below the arena, which will cause you to go to the Frontier's Nether spawn.

Take part in events on EMC, host one yourself or visit a special Empire residence.
