If you have Windows 7 or 8, you can get Windows 10 for free... I've got mine reserved, I can get it at any time between now and the date that I said yesterday a few posts up.
If you are a user of Windows 7 or 8, you have a reservation. At some point your computer will pester you about updating and the update will be completely free. Depending on whether you have shown interest in getting Windows 10 early, you will receive that notification soon or it might be months until you see it. If you can't stand waiting, there are plenty of ways to jump the line and claim it now. Sometime in mid to laterish 2016, you will lose your chance to get Windows 10 for free and will have to pay the hefty sum of money to upgrade.
