why are the layers near bedrock not lighting up properly in town?

  1. I just recently payed staff to dig out a property of mine, and started building from the bedrock layer up. But reguardless of how much glowstone I put on the bedrock, its like only 25 % of the chunk that I'm in shows up on my screen. Is this server or client side? Is there anything I can change or do to fix it? Any help would be great. Thanks:)

  2. You must be using a < 1.8 client. The bedrock fog can be removed with Optifine or by upgrading to 1.8.

  4. Like MrSocks said, it's void fog. It's been in Minecraft for a very long time. It isn't lighting, just fog that can be removed with OptiFine or a 1.8 client.

  5. Hold up; this goes away in 1.8? I used it to create a 1 block high black fog in my res. :p
  6. Thank you all, it worked like a charm! Its clear as a bell. :)
