Hello everybody... I haven't been very involved lately as I am caught in something else, but I promise that that will change soon. I have recently found a website called ruplus.net. I don't know what it is, but it seems to be a YouTube reskin. Do not visit unless you either verify it's security first, or create a Virtual Machine to run it in first (Oracle VirtualBox to the rescue). Look here... Is RUplus a real service, a YouTube reskin, a scam virus spy freaking Spectre site (and more tech stuff), or a YouTube ripoff that everybody used without the knowledge of Google? If anybody knows, I'd be grateful for an answer of any kind. Edit: The OS in use here is a build of Android x86 called Prime OS.
Probably a spy site or something, but who knows? I didn't see anything bad about it on the these sites. https://urlscan.io/domain/ruplus.net https://ruplus.net.cutestat.com/ http://ruplus.net.ipaddress.com/ Actually searching for "ruplus.net" on google turned up very little.
I don't think there is anything wrong with these sites. There are also Chinese ones. My hypothesis is that many internet providers in Russia and China block YouTube (maybe because the government wants them to), and these mirror sites are used as workarounds.
RUplus actually has the profies for American trafficking. It is indeed Russian (or from the netherlands as per the IP address) ( view-source:https://ruplus.net ), but According to Wikipedia , Russia has it's own YouTube servers, as the government no longer forces ISPs to block YouTube. The site would likely have been leftover from that time (2010 I think). However, the IP address isn't one year old, which rules that out. I just can't see it as a legitimate mirror. I'm not saying you're wrong, as I am not experienced enough to reach such a conclusion without doubt. I could be missing something. I could just be dead wrong here so . Thank you for the response !
