This is actually quite a funny one So the other day Aya and me raided an ocean monument, its what triggered my post about unfair elder guardians. We started at /waste n (smp2) and our monument is way out into the wasteland, not sure from mind but 500 blocks away easily. CallMeTower shared some frustration in the thread I linked to and his issues with these monuments, which gave me an idea to write a guide on raiding them (which I'll be sending to the blog). So Aya and me set sail from "our" monument and searched around for other unraided monuments. After 10 or so minutes (and after suffering many issues with disconnects, visual glitches, and weird behaving boats) we finally found one! In the middle of no where too... That moment when... (I didn't press F2 when I first spotted the ladder) Wait, is that an outpost? For some reason I experience a lot of block lag and the surrounding area more than often doesn't fully load. So while we were busy setting up this monument for the raid (and snapping pictures to be used in the blog post) I had absolutely no idea what so ever that we were this close to the same outpost which we started from (at one moment I was convinced that we must have been traveling far enough to reach another outpost). Talk about going around in circles But yeah: /waste n on SMP2 has an easily accessible ocean monument for all to raid (Spiderpig_Epic and me build a (lit) cobble bridge to easily get here).
This is a continence of the previous post (already grinning if I get ninja'd). So we set up a new mining base on top of an ocean monument. The intent was to collect pictures which are to be used in an almost fully written blog post. This is also why we created a road; to allow others easy access to this monument as well: Cobble road towards the outpost Anyway, what I always do is place a bed and set my spawn point. So if you do happen to die you'll be close by to retrieve your stuff. Yeah... Now, in order to reach the previous monument (which Aya and my raided on our own) I always used: /compass bed. That no longer worked, so how was I ever going to find my base again? Eventually I did it. I vaguely remembered one coordinate (Z), I also roughly recalled the direction I sailed to and could figure some things out using old screenshots. All in all it took me 30 or so minutes to find "our" ocean monument again. That moment when you go over your rupee history, noticed that you had indeed locked a chest there and your history shows the exact coordinates of that chest *facepalm*
That moment when gawa respawns the dragon as you are about to leave the end. Edit: And as you kill it it decides to dance when it dies
That moment when you finally give up hunting for a and ship, and as you hop off the cliff you see one as you fly past
That moment when, after a year, you manage to get back to your old outpost, which was literally an empty space, and decide that you don't want to set up a base there anymore
i am SUPER excited here almost jumping up and down! moment when u got ur own OP GOD ARMOR!!! NOW lessee what is best: my armor or shellys voters armor ^.^ (is a post which shelly wanted 2 do, his loss 4 waiting after 1.9 LOL!). #mendingftw
That moment when you suddenly remember why you collected an x amount of gapple stacks Now comes the easy part: trying to sell them
That moment when you grow your first chorus and realize how exciting it actually is! Be sure to read Shadow_Dcord's guide on Chorus farming! I think this is pretty cool; yesterday I bought myself a chorus flower, why not? So today I found Shadow's guide and decided that I should give this a try. Well, as you can see above I started out with one, now I already have 7 chorus flowers (and 10 fruit, make that 30 after the last harvest ). This is one of the better additions of 1.9 IMO. I always enjoyed the plant life in Minecraft; I think the whole system with trees and vegetables (carrots, potatoes, etc.) is very well designed. Well, and I think the chorus really fits in perfectly. It's quite bizarre compared to a regular tree, especially because each chorus flower can grow several chorus stalks. And during that grow process it can easily grow (spawn) yet another chorus flower which in its turn can also start growing stalks again. I especially like how you can see up front how much flowers you'll be able to get from the plant. That's a nice change from tree leaves where it remains to be seen how many saplings you'll collect (if any at all). Well, time for the next part: adding a chorus section to my tree farm
That moment when you dump some chorus on a new player while they're farming vegetables and you manage to completely and totally confuse them. "Wait, whats this purple stuff? you get purple stuff from potatoes now?" Yes, I did explain a few things afterwards, that this was chorus; stuff from the end. But we're still trying to find out how this got in his potato fields though
That moment when two skeletons settle an argument: I was in the waste fighting mobs and I just lost my shield. So I tried the next best thing: getting these two skeletons to shoot at each other, and I succeeded. But I never expected them to kill each other and at the same time
For the record, just so we're clear, I'm teasing here. I think it's a great idea that EMC tries to put some extra attention to the forums; something which I often refer to as "the second part of the Empire". There's also so much happening here and I also think many players just overlook it. And I also like how they did it. Still, yeah, I felt like teasing anyway That moment when the Empire wonders if you can become an even larger part of the community? Having had the honor of the community bestowing their appreciation on me twice I really don't see how things can get any bigger But I guess you can always try
