Actually, the running on water thing shouldn't be reported. That is a common lag problem on whom's computer and internet connection.
Despite some people's tendency to announce in chat when they report someone, does the use of /report reveal to the reported player anything about who reported them, or at least tell them the reason they were reported? I would assume they are at least told the reason for being reported, but if not they would probably feel very unprepared when contacted by a moderator in the event that it was a misunderstanding or the like. Additionally, I'm curious about whether or not a moderator can reverse the addition of bad reputation in the system if a reported player's actions are deemed to not have been an actual breech of the rules (i.e. a mistake, random glitch, etc).
This is awesome. The credit system is the best. Now if someone is going off in chqt and multiple people report them, we wont have to wait for a mod to stop it. Good job as always justin.
I have already been reported for reprimanding a rule breaker... He was kicked for cursing, poorly hiding an i with an !... Then asked me why he was kicked and tried to justify his use as "an honest mistake"... This system is going to evolve over time, but it will be a while until the bugs are squashed...
So he reported you for kicking him? Lol should be a rule in the system that reports on mods go no where
No reports on Mods should definitely go somewhere, because Mods could still potentially break rules... like per say some Mod is really an extremely patient griefer, they could then if they managed to become a Mod wreak havoc upon everyone with their Mod abilities. I'm not saying it would happen, but it COULD.
Thank you Justin! This is JUST what the Empire needs! Now I won't feel like I'm annoying mods by asking them to sort a player out or emailing them Yay, I'm excited for this introduction. Edit: This is already working a treat.
Moderators do not posses sufficient powers to go on a griefing campaign... It would require Justin powers to do such terrible things and that will never happen...
WOW.... I cannot believe the amazing things that have become part of EMC in such a short time. This is amazing! A little overwhelming for mods at first but we catch on quick...lol I am always so proud of the players that help us build and keep a great community. This just gave them one more GREAT way of doing it! Thank You Justin Your The Best
An intellectual pursuit! That does bring up a question, how does the system handle multiple reports from the same person?
Justin did say that people who abuse it or use it the wrong way could be punished. I know its for testing reasons but be carefull ;p
I agree that saying in chat that you are reporting someone is unnecessary, it is actually a little annoying. Players are not told when they are reported, only staff can see reports and reasons. I think this important to avoid retaliations and let people report with confidence the mater is private. The reputation thing is not in-place yet, this system is currently in its infancy and is pretty basic. But yes it will probably be setup so staff members can adjust reputation as they see fit.
I do not think that this is that much oif a good idea since it allow splayers to ban others with no reason
Correct this only streamlines the process, before this people email / whisper / pm / post on forums / etc with problems, now they are are filtered through one place
