  2. It's recommended. Go to add or remove programs and delete any java versions you have installed, then install the newest client. It will upgrade if you go that route, but sometimes it's nice to start fresh when you're having errors.
  3. I had the same problem earlier this week, all i did was install the newest version of java over the existing one and it worked fine.
  4. Has it fixed you're crashes?
  5. No crashes so far :D, but it wasn't an everyday problem. Hoping it's fixed!
  6. I reinstalled the new version of java, and it hasn't crashed since! :D
Josh, I will pay you if it hasn't crashed yet on Friday. (U.S. time)
  7. Also, don't forget to make sure you have the correct version of Java installed. If you are running 32 bit on a 64 bit OS, you will have terrible performance.

Someone mentioned Optifine not running on 1.4.2. I thought it was an old post, but it was only yesterday. I've been using Optifine since we updated to 1.4. On a side note, I refuse to try snapshots any longer. I like waiting for EMC to update before I try anything new! :)

  8. Just try to restart everything. Put a fan under the computer.
  9. 1) Update your Java.
    2) Get Optifine
    3) Turn everything down to low
    4) Try the nether again.

Also, press ctrl+delete and start task manager, set Java to low, and close all background problems.
  10. It has not crashed yet, looks like it works. =)
  11. Me either! I think we found the fix :D
