Monetisation Question

As per Mojang's post today (viewable at https://mojang.com/2014/06/lets-talk-server-monetisation/), what can the players at EMC expect to change? Is there already discussion on this, or have staff not a chance to address it? I'm just curious what we have to look forward to.

One sure thing that would change is TNT use(probably block for everyone), everything else is still up for debate.

I've worked some adjustments to the upgrade page removing the rupee bonus for now so that its not 'promised', but it will stay in effect for at LEAST 30 days. for anyone who paid for that perk.

Anyone who upgrades from here is doing so with the expectation of NOT receiving that perk, and we will not remove it until we've given formal notice it will be removed, once we evaluate its potential as a perk.

I however think we CAN sell rupees because they are not "unlocking" game features, but will give it a bit to see.

TNT: Weve known this was the primary risk - For now, I think its safe to say the following changes will happen.

TNT Blocked on ALL Servers Except Utopia SOME DAY After the formal notification is sent.

Sometime soon (Even before notification is sent), gold will gain access to TNT On Utopia.
Also, Free players will lose ALL access to Utopia.

We would love to give free the ability to "visit", but Mojang is kind of forcing this upon us. "Cant mix free and paying".

Flying in town will be given to Gold members on Utopia too.

As for Residences and the other supporter perks, I do not see them as an advantage over free players as it does not impact a free players ability to play Empire Minecraft.... and no plans to change them.

You are paying for the ability to utilize extra server resources.

I have some other ideas to change things around, and will post something more official when more things are set in stone.
