    Histories of the Empire:

    Prologue

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

    This is EMC.

There are few now who shared in the earliest stories of this grand Empire, and fewer still whom were there to witness its birth. So many who came have now journeyed onward to other lands, or mayhap perished altogether. Many who now reside here know little of the origins, and perhaps some few find it of little importance.

I however, as a scribe, and a scholar, find myself drawn to search out the past. I am new to this world and its particular story, but it is a story familiar to me. One which I have witnessed so many times before. Long have I lived before coming to this realm, lived many lives in other lands, traveled through many times.

In my journeys here I have gazed upon the Great Pyramids, stood upon the legendary walls of Eternia, and discovered a few of the many secrets in the townships. I have traveled throughout this realm searching for tomes to study, and have found only fragments. Scraps of the truths that once were. Pieces of the greater puzzle that I attempt to re-assemble into these journals.

Many are the places I must still visit, and there are an abundance of names yet to encounter. MatthewDA, MoeMacZap, corruptedsmile, SkareCboi, AntiRevix896, iamkhatru, OmarWrongChat, mart1111n, RandomZh, Melk73. These are just some of the Mightiest whose names are inscribed in honor within the halls of the Empire.

It is my sincere hope to create a concise and accurate portrayal of the Empire, from its earliest days, onto the pages that follow. Journey with me for a time…

Histories of the Empire I :

    Beginnings

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

    This is EMC.

In the beginning the struggle for survival was indeed great, and difficult for so many. Thousands were endeavoring to make it alone in the wilds, trying carve out a simple existence in the vastness that had come out of the dark void. There was food, and materials to survive, but also adversity. Strange creatures and dragons filled the darkness of the nights. Dangerous entities whose only purpose seemed to be the destruction of everything, and the end of all life. Though I was not there, I have experienced the wrath of dragons and skeletons in many realities, and their powers are well known to me.

It was out of these dark times that this story begins. Though there were small villages, they were made up of simple folk; farmers and laborers. They had no knowledge of combat, or of the greater magic. Yet there existed a small few, at first just a group of friends in search of something better, a greater purpose. The great founders, JustinGuy and GameKribJeremy, and a few trusted companions, were foremost amongst these. Out of humble beginnings an idea was formed, a dream as it were, to create a better place, a grander scheme of the world. Their plan was to create a better village, a town. Somewhere that would be safe from the dangers of the wilderness, where people could work together, and thus create a community where all could lead a better life.

Through their early journeys Justin and Jeremy even had the good fortune to ally with one of the great dragons. Resik was her name, and for a time she and the founders lived in harmony, until their relations reached an abrupt end, the story of which may be found in the journal Resik’s Tomb. Together the founders had discovered a way to protect the township from the evil creatures with the help of the dragon. Once their powerful wards were in place, a call went out, and in the Seventh Cycle of the Third Age, the first township was created.

This era saw many great achievements come to fruition. Though they had lost the aide of their mighty dragon, Justin and his followers found a way to ensure the portals were secure from the dangerous mobs, and only the dwellers of the city were able to utilize them. And though the dragons may have posed a threat, the portals were only man-sized, thus the dragons would not have been able to pass through the gates if ever they found them.

Thus, with this new haven established, others soon began to arrive from all corners. Each new subject was offered a grant of land, the Res, to call their own and develop for agriculture or other purposes. The registry office lists Autonamus, Belchmaster, LilSpiders & TehSpiders, Darkmajor, SikoraP13, NurseKilljoy & GameKribJim as just some of the first to claim lands in the new township. They would soon be followed by so many others.

Commerce rapidly began to blossom, and soon the city state was a thriving hub of activity. Some successful citizens started to offer support towards the towns infrastructure, and others sent word to friends and relations, and the town’s growth began to explode.

Unfortunately this huge influx brought many evildoers hiding among the immigrants. Their interests were to steal and destroy the work of others. Either to enrich their own lives without having to labour, or perhaps they had been sent by some evil force. One can never be certain.

In order to help maintain the peace, these illustrious leaders began to create the first laws and regulations for the city, as well as look for good citizens to help maintain order. Two were chosen from amongst the newcomers for their integrity. Two to watch over. Dark_Liz, and AusQB from his floating fortress, were raised and given their esteemed titles.

And the region prospered, rapidly reaching over 1000 inhabitants. With its success, the benevolent founders in their wisdom gave aide in return to the people. Aside from land, each new citizen was given a small gift of rupees, and soon after tools as well, but that is another story.

A flux of newcomers continued to swell to the city, soon creating higher demands for the goods and services, and of course land. At first a new policy was put into place to re-assimilate lands unused, by those who were derelict or fallen in battle. But even this proved to be insufficient. Thus it was decided to build a second great township, and a new location was chosen by Justin. This new place opened up new opportunities and room for even more growth. And as word spread through the worlds, even more and more people came to join in their glory.

Events were becoming more popular, and in the ninth cycle Justin commissioned arenas to be made for the pleasure of all. Many other great structures were created, and some future master masons made their new beginnings in the Empire. B4dmansimon started with his village residences, and Eclypsis would open the Grand Hotel, amongst other projects such as a new Spleef Arena.

Shortly another new town was needed, and this time it was decided to create a special place for the many supporters the empire had gained. Utopia Town was born. Justin and the great ones used special magics, creating a place where the sun never sets, & providing the citizens who dwelt there with larger plots of land. And all members of the ever growing townships were permitted to visit. More magic was used to expand the wondrous Portals, so that citizens could travel from one town to another in the blink of an eye, despite the vast distances that lay between them.

Great heroes also would arrive, thus finally, in the eleventh cycle, the first of the dragons would fall to the might of a select few. Shawnzup, Bluebl1, Pikminboy111 and Camdenmil succeeded in vanquishing two of the terrible beasts. And they claimed the unhatched eggs as prizes for their accomplishments. Soon after a tribute was opened, a museum, for all to go admire the eggs, and also for the glory of the people (this place was lost to time I fear, for a great mall now stands where the museum was once located).

In the end more dragons fell to their swords, and another in Utopia to lord Belchmaster.
A later assault on another dragon by a troupe of adventurers coincided with the original group, causing a great dispute over the prize won, and the warriors came almost to blows. But Justin would step in to resolve this issue producing another egg, and keeping the peace; and afterwards all the lords praised one another for their mutual successes. It is not clear where this additional egg came from that resolved the dispute however. Perhaps from lords Justin and Jeremy’s previous exploits, but I have found no records thus far to clarify that subject.

Other future leaders would make their first low key debuts into the Empire at this time as well, each with their own personal exploits. Bigdavie, Green_Mystery, Shaunwhite1982, Roslyn, AlexC, to name but few. The latter, Sir AlexChance, apparently even come close to permanent banishment due to an early accusation of his flying in town using forbidden powers, but that misunderstanding appears to have been cleared up, to the good fortune of all.

By the end of this age two more townships would be built, and now the inhabitants of the region numbered well over Five Thousand. Many more were to follow in the times to come, and all who came to participate prospered together, as a community. It was thus the Empire was born.

Histories of the Empire II :

    Expansion

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

    This is EMC.

By the First Cycle of the Fourth age Justin was now ruling from within his massive Pyramid, and his loyal supporters continued to draw newcomers. The influx was constant, doubling the population to 10,000 in the first cycle, and four times that number by the sixth cycle. Five more townships would be built and populated during this same period of expansion in the Empire. With each new milestone celebrations were called for, and the royal coffers bestowed gifts of rupees to all the inhabitants. This growth also attracted many people of skill and knowledge, some whose destiny would be entwined within the new empire, helping it to become even greater. Others used their abilities only for selfish and evil causes.

Some individuals even managed to steal one of the Dragon eggs from the great vault at 2430. Of course an investigation resulted in the capture and banishment the culprits, with the egg being returned to its rightful owners, but it proved that the powers of the evildoers could also be mighty.

Thus early on Justin and his wizards continued to work their powerful magic’s for the security of the inhabitants. Some even declared his powers to be Godlike! Already personal belongings were secure from mischief inside town lots, but new magic enabled those in the wilds and frontier to have the wizards lock their chests so only the owner had access. Material costs for each spell ran high, so the wizards charged 500 rupees plus 500 more for deposit, returned when the lock was dispelled.

Sometimes these protections could backfire though, and at times innocents were erroneously banished or destroyed by these magic’s. They would be quickly resurrected by those in power, but research was ongoing to improve these magic’s constantly. Even during the test phases Justin and Jeremy were provoking Creepers to blow up the chests, and one unfortunate test caught Justin himself in the blast, disintegrating him instantly, to be brought back shortly thereafter. Such are the risks of tampering with such magic.

Another such incident affected the founder Jeremy directly. Rumours indicate another explosion... an icy biome... and numerous cattle wandering nearby... one serious error and Jeremy found himself physically changed, magically transformed into a walking, talking IceCreamCow. Though there was disbelief and confusion at first, the people gradually realized that this being was the same Jeremy they had grown to respect and admire, and most accepted him fully. Only a few called for his head!

Through a survey of the community, it was confirmed that the overseers were in need of more tools to work with. For this purpose Justin created an all powerful crystal Square, giving them the ability to watch over and see the actions of others. Even giving them limited powers to see into the past, to assist in determining how events may have actually unfolded. Early citizens spoke fondly of Justin, and how he even personally escorted new members to their plots at times, but now with the massive growth, and the added stresses of ruling, Justin had slowly distanced himself from the masses, and more issues fell to the other leaders to handle.

For regular inhabitants, the ability to teleport between plots also became possible in town, making travel faster, and trade easier and more profitable. Justin also bestowed a new power throughout the empire, and sticks were enchanted with a powerful Eggification spell. Now animals could be transformed into eggs for, for quick and easy transport of cattle and other livestock. Of course some people accidentally eggified other more dangerous creatures... one must hope no citizens were erroneously egged into horses at that time...

Dark_Liz departed the Empire in this period, but left behind the Empire Minecraft Amusement Park in township 3 as just a part of her legacy. It can still be visited today at smp3, /fun.

Many of our Greatest Citizens and future leaders would find their way into the Empire during this age; prominent leaders like Chickeneer decorating his residence in town Four, Rainbowchin (and eventually his entourage) with his creative works of art, The_Boulder, HxCami10, JackBiggin, SeffyChan, LuckyGreenBird, Melk73, NickkG, SamSimx; KrysyyJane would materialize with Ignoramoose in a mysterious blue Booth to open their Nameless Luxury Hotel; and the legendary stronghold Eternia was established in a secret and remote locale by the "Wild King" Aikar, who was himself falling under the spells of Maxarias and her enchanted fruit salads... he furthermore began collaborating with the founders, as he too was a wizard of great renown...

Eternia became a legend in its own right, with work begun in the second cycle of the age deep into the wilds. Only a very few members were supporters handpicked by its king, including Maxarias, margaritte, Dreacon78, Crazy1080, Green_mystery, and select others. Some of its creations included an early automatic Wheat farm, cattle farm, and spider, zombie, and slime farms. All this was done with the intent of making the outpost entirely self-sufficient. Many other outposts would follow, expanding the reaches of the empire deep into the surrounding wilderness.

In reviewing these materials with a merchant from the era, Equinox_boss (a very likeable fellow by all accounts) I also learned this was the time of the Guilds. These were player groups who organized events; contests; built, hunted, and mined together… Delta Team; the Empire Guild; T.E.S. (The Epic Survivors); Unfortunately massive griefing and general unrest seemed to cause the downfall of these groups in the same era as they began. A common issue with the growing pangs of any empire.

In this age with its booming economy, when diamonds sold for just 30 rupees (due partially to forgeries created through illegal enchanting at the time), owners of the Dragon Eggs sought to profit from their good luck, and many put their Eggs up on the auction block. The original four eggs were all offered, and many bids came in to purchase them individually. Some of the elite were there to participate; Eclipsys, Ignoramoose, iSmooch, skilled_creeper, AlexC_; when the hammer fell, final prices ranged from 94,000, up to 140,000 for the first egg obtained. Though these figures pale to more recent sales in the tens of millions, the amounts were quite substantial at that time.

The Dragon egg auctions that followed rapidly thereafter were heated and exciting, pricey, but also conflictive. This actually led to a need for a proper auction site, which was investigated by Ignoramoose and Justin, and a proper forum was created a short time later.

It was near the end of the 8th cycle that the famed “Dragon egg offer” was issued. For the price of just 1 rupee the owners could sell their egg to the Empire Shop. But then the intention was to magically duplicate the eggs, returning 20 Dragon eggs to each owner. In the end the 7 original eggs were returned, along with 133 duplicate dragon eggs. Not as valuable, the duplicate eggs still sell for high prices, though not endowed with the same special powers...

The First Anniversary of the township was call for great celebration, and the coffers again spilled forth rupees for the inhabitants as well as grand parties where all were welcome to attend. For all their success the people rejoiced at the end of the fourth age, and IceCreamCow announced a special new artifact of the empire, available to all citizens. The first Empire Firework. The Empire would welcome the next era with gatherings, events, and this very special artifact to light the way to the new age.

Histories of the Empire III :

    Prosperity

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

    This is EMC.

It was the Fifth Age, and the Empire now found itself firmly established. Immigrants continued in a slow steady stream into the realm, bringing new hunters, gatherers, farmers and merchants. The towns filled up with new homes and shops, and everywhere the economy was seeing a healthy growth. Of course all of this began to cause a change at higher levels. More staff was called for with new duties, and even more projects on the horizon, including the powers of Flight in Utopia for Diamond citizens. Slowly the government started to settle into a structure as it grew as well.

And then KryssyJane had a dream; A Vision of sorts. The next day Aikar and Maxarias were promoted from the ranks to administrate the affairs of the Royal house, and felicitations poured in from all over the realm. Others such as BigDavie also rose in the ranks to positions of great power at this time.

Come valentine and Maxarias, Mistress of Fire, declared the grand opening of a new Empire shop. This official mall was moved to a new location, housing all the items within three great Pyramids, shadowed by a statue of a mighty Sphinx. Prices, as before, would run higher than at the local markets, but with the benefit that supplies would never run short, as occurred at small shops. A great amount of work by many went into its construction, with Maxarias and Krysyy supervising (and blowing up) things. Valentines also saw a special gift of Roses given by Aikar and Maxarias...

It was the fourth cycle of this era when the population attained 60,000, marking a great achievement. IceCreamCow came forth with tidings of special artifacts to mark the event, available in a special shop at the first town. These were the magically enhanced Ore Buster, Turfinator, Everlasting Axestopper, Flaming Mob Launcher, Big Daddy Helmet, Bullet Proof Vest, Cactus Pants, and Feather Falling Boots. Each item was endowed with exceptional powers and each sold for 6,000 rupees; to be fair all citizens also received 6000 rupees each to buy at least one item, and powerful merchants; like Kalzahar, AmusedStew, Duckne; bought entire sets or even dozens of items. In the final tally of two days sales, over 4000 items sold for over 24,000,000 rupees at the time. A sign of just how strong the economy had become. At the time some even dared to believe future values could reach over a million per item, a fact which has come true in our time. Other extremely powerful artifacts also spread through the empire, including very rare gifts given at Maxarias' and IceCreamCows birthday celebrations...

Endertopia, a city in the End wastes, is revamped by IceCreamCow and crew, an Enderman grinder originally founded by Belchmaster. This special housing project still offers Homes and apartments today for the supporters of the Empire for what is now a nominal price. And the Dragon eggs would be returned to their rightful owners, now endowed to produce End crystals, along with the promised bonus dragon eggs.

But also mid-cycle, the first rumors began to spread, tales of strange and powerful creatures, even stories of a giant zombie seen in the wild, floating skeletons in armor, and flaming mobs. Slowly at first, then more frequently, new items appeared in the market; enchanted armor and weapons, shiny arrows, and strange potions. The heads of the slain now decorated the halls of many a castle. These were often found on the slain creatures and a new trade sprung up. But was it a sign? Were the barriers to the dragons being weakened? Were these minions being sent as an advance force to wreak havoc? More care was used to strengthen the wards, but still many creatures come through. Perhaps one day the magic may fail us altogether...

The Empires second anniversary of its founding coincided with people’s ability to master Horses, Which led to some very special promotions for the citizens. Stables were built, and it was possible to board from one to several steeds depending on the citizen. Most important special horses, only available at that time, were gifted one to each citizen, with great jumping ability, stamina, or speed. Wealthy citizens could also purchase additional ones for 35,000 rupees, a sizeable sum in this era. The event was so exciting that some, like Luckygreenbird, literally lost their head over the entire affair. Today these special animals; Incitatus, Saltar and Valens; can sell at over 20 times that in the market.

With so much more support in the ranks of the Empire, many great new projects were begun, and Aikar, Maxarias, Kryssy, and the other leaders, all worked tirelessly to improve the Empire for its people. RainbowChins now famous challenges found their start in this very age. Though he had been honing skills in various arenas for some time, here was the birth of his UHC Arena, with its deadly gladiator matches for all to spectate. In the Mob Arena, Talukegord defeated Melk73 and WeirdManiaco to claim the Sword of Udder Justice.

Into the later part of the age, Maxarias announced a new tutorial for welcoming newcomers into the empire, with rewards granted to all who completed the interactive process. Even existing citizens were welcome to refresh their knowledge and claim the rewards.

Word had spread far and wide about the Empire, and the leaders continued to seek new relations in other lands. Kryssy herself went forth in the regalia of a Red Dragon, bringing fame of the empire to trade routes, and spreading the word even further. Again, many of today’s community leaders would be drawn to the empire in this age. Burgerknight, Carolmoss, Crystaldragon, DWmom, IamCavie, Weeh, xXvexenXx; even Hashhog, future publisher, curator and Inner Circle Wizard, made his start as a guide aboard the SS Creeper.

The Emperor Justin had left more duties to his followers, becoming more reclusive, his attention frequently drawn elsewhere. Such is a common occurrence in many an empire. There are many who have built and forged great kingdoms out of dust, but often these types of leaders are not satisfied with the routine administrative duties once the lands are stable and peaceful. It seems Justin grew more restless, and decided to seek further adventures elsewhere in the world. In the last cycle of the age Justin Guy abdicated the throne, and Aikar stepped forth to be crowned first of his line. This would be the start of new directions.

Aikar would begin recruit many to work on bringing more magic and wonders to an already great empire, such as the enchanted labor bench. He then began expansion of the inner circle of wizards, starting with an old friend, hatorijr.

In the final cycle of this age, Maxarias and IceCreamCow oversaw the construction of Monuments in memory of their former leader Justin, and the greatest works were given places of honor around the great Pyramid, all of which still stand to this very day at /v tribute. The age would end with a huge Drop Party hosted by Aikar that would shake the economy to its very roots. Though this age had seen so many unique and special items already, final news of a new special fireworks rocket, as well a choice of gifts to all citizens (either an enchanted reindeer or a magical pick) would help them to forage their way into the future of the Empire.

    New Order

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

Rumors and strange occurrences would herald the first cycle of the next Age, the Sixth. Out in the wastes and wilds, adventurers continued to cross paths with powerful creatures of the night, and soon strange artifacts would be discovered. Broken shards dropped by the creatures, each with a hint of magic. Many clamored to buy them up for study, or went in search of more. Soon news came from the High Council and Aikar ... the fragments appeared to emit dragon magic...

xI_Like_a_Pigx appears to have been the first to unlock the secret of fusing fragments to create a complete stone. Speculation was the stones were used by the enraged mobs to access our world, and perhaps could be used also to access the legendary Dragon Tombs in return.

Within a cycle Just_five_fun and PirateofDW completed their initiation to the Inner Circle of wizards, making it four strong, and better able to deal with the threat of Dragons and other issues that could hazard the Empire.

Meanwhile services continued to improve, and the Empire Mail Service was set into operation in the second cycle. This impressive division of the Royal House now made it easy and reliable to deliver goods, items, and special gifts to friends and customers for a nominal fee.

The historic Empire Games was held in this age, with competitions in racing, archery, parkour, firefloor, and many other sports. Indeed many grand activities were hosted by our leaders; IcecreamCow's Arenas; Maxarias; Krysyy; BigDavie's final Mob Arena; and many other leaders held celebrations. Often special and promotional items would be awarded at these events, such as a valuable piece of BigDavie's Pyramid, and the Book of Colors.

The beloved IceCreamCow stepped down from governing to move on to pursue greener pastures in other territories, though artifacts from his events and parties are still highly sought after today like his special Eggnog. Thus with the continuing expansion of the Royal House, Krysyy was raised to the Royal Purple by Aikar, as his own efforts were ever more directed in the preservation and expansion of the Realms. Kryssy, the Dragon Rider would rule the populace at the side of Maxarias, Empress of Fire, who eventually was seen less and less by the end of this age, called away with the taxing duty of overseeing the Royal Treasuries. But she did not depart without marking her legacy in the form of a flaming mask.

In the middle of the age Aikar announced a second currency from the treasury, specially rewarded as bounty for the destruction of the dangerous mobs swarming the frontier, or for completing special challenges. This currency would permit the control of weather biomes on your own land, summoning of special artifacts, and many other future uses.

Many highly crafted suits of armor appeared in the empire during this age. The Independence Armor in its splendid Red White & Blue enamels with accompanying Sword, and the even rarer Empire Armor that was released at the Purple People Drop party celebrating 80,000 citizens in the empire. Only three complete sets of Empire Armor exist, making them extremely valuable. Other highly prized items from this event include busts of Aikar and Krysyy in the Royal purple, the limited editions of "Tales of Eternia" by Aikar, and five more of the nine pairs of Maxarian shoes went to some very 'fortune-ate' participants, along with other hard to come by artifacts.

The empire's third birthday was widely celebrated, with cake for all the citizens, though on some of the first few the bakery erred, putting the wrong date, which immediately became a famous collector’s item.

Now with more assistance Aikar was able to add greater enchantments on Utopia, allowing not only residents but also any visitors to be able to fly in this town at will. Many citizens like to visit just for fun and the chance to zoom around in the air, and you don’t even need to bring your wings!

Under the guidance of the new leaders the administration had grown substantially, and so great strides were made on the following improvements and additions all around the Empire, with various teams formed early in this era, massive projects began to be rolled out.

The old graveyard was completely remodeled by the build team of this era, and underneath it new tombs were raised to replace the old ones for the founders, as well as AusBQ and Dark_liz.

A huge Christmas celebration took place, with prizes, gifts, and special events spanning twelve days over the holiday season. New Spawns were built in each town center as a gift for the citizens, though on the same format each was slightly unique in terms of design and decoration. These are the same Spawns we still use today, though it is possible to visit the original design for those with a nostalgic urge.

Additionally a new Mob Arena was designed and built to replace the old, and this was of particular interest to RainbowChin, who still loses his head over Arena battles. Many new projects would be constructed by the Build Team which included some renowned members such as Computrix and Kephras, alongside B4DMAN5IMON, AlexC, & 820327 who still dazzle us to this day with their creativity.

A number of other teams formed under the New Order during this age, and many members of that period still serve, with all the teams having a hand in shaping the Empire as we know it today, each individual helping build the path to greatness.

... and in the wild, tasty (though a little tough) wild turkeys were discovered for the holiday feasts, but a new danger also appeared with the first snow storms, hurtling their deadly ice balls in a raging fury...

Histories of the Empire V :

    Affluence

    Tales beget Legends.

    Legends beget Myths.

    This is EMC.

Thus began the 7th Age, with all the Empire finding itself living a peaceful existence within its vast territories, great cities, and under a noble reign, except for the occasional onslaught of creatures and snowmen. However the citizens were attaining skills of greater heights than ever before, and it was common to see parties out hunting for sport and noses. They were also much more affluent, as many collectors and shopkeepers had amassed huge fortunes through their dealings, and some owned huge malls that rivaled even the great Imperial Shop, as prices had risen to levels never before seen, feeding even more wealth into the nation.

This would indeed become a time of tribute to the successes that the Empire had achieved since the time of founding. Apart from issuing recognition to the upstanding Citizens of the empire with the Community Awards, great builds were constructed to pay tribute to the origins and founder of the Empire, JustinGuy. The collected works were gathered together into a single location on the Empire for the new generations to visit, still standing to this day. Later In the fifth cycle a tribute was also completed to honor the glorious IceCreamCow, which also still stands as testament to his many contributions.

Early on in the first cycle Kryssy called up new lords to the ruling class, including the now familiar leaders Ladblo, Eviltoade, JNightwind, ItsMeMattheus, and the squire BlacKnight1021 who would later be anointed as the infamous BugerKnight. Also at this time B4DMAN5IMON was elevated to the great Inner Circle, and proffered the title of Master Builder in the empire, assigned to lead the architects and projects for the imperial host. The noble AlexChance was appointed as Principal Chronicler, while ItsMeMattheus was instilled as Chief Contributor for the Royal library.

In the third cycle the planets were specially aligned for the mathematical phenomenon that occurs but once each century, and so to commemorate the occasion special treats were baked for the people of the lands to celebrate Ultimate Pi Day. Many other dates were celebrated throughout the Era, and other special items were awarded via a number of contests that were held in that time. Following the popular build competition for JustinGuy, many others were held including the Secret Garden, Follow the Leprechaun, and the aforementioned ICC Tribute. Awards with special lore were given out to many talented participants.

During the first part or this era, prices were increased on various valuable items at the Empire shops. Some members incited that Aikar was causing inflation to come, but the decision was defended by Kryssy and rightly so, as inflation is a normal effect in a civilization that grows rapidly, such as the Empire had. Yes, it was in the 4th cycle of this Era that the population had exploded to over 300,000.

For this monumental occasion much thought and planning went in to host a celebration that could be equally enjoyed by all the peoples, regardless of rank, ability, position or location. The weekend long event was launched by Aikar himself with the announcement of a “Loot Party”, a treasure hunt that would take place in a specially designated section of the Empire where citizens’ hunted for hidden chests of materials, valuables, and special items. So popular was this idea that its tradition has continued at various times.

Through this age various Flags were added to the Empire flag shop, so that allegiances’ could be proudly displayed. Among these was the release of the Empire Flag during the 4th Birthday Celebration. Once again multiple events were held around this milestone since the founding, from the arena’s to the Grand Cake celebration. This event also saw the first release of the special Birthday Cookie baked to send out to all the well-wishers in the region.

Many heartfelt wishes flooded in as well for the newest leaders into the royal halls who were to assist in ruling over the expanding townships and ever growing populace; iamcavie, Manchildie, Live2DieSlowly, Dreacon78 & Damiensmom11 (both returning), ElfinPineapple0, AnonReturns; as well as congratulations for MrSocks75 and RainbowChin and Breezyman, all elevated to the Inner Circle.

Mid-era Krysyy herself was witness to a great celestial occurrence, as two stars collided to create a new massive star, and at that very moment a shard broke away from the colliding bodies to send a meteorite crashing down into the wilderness. She immediately flew to collect the special item from its crater and brought it to the grand wizard Aikar for study. Through a chance discovery, it was found the rock held special properties, and when a tiny piece was combined with a bow, the archer was able to launch a shooting star at their target! Thus the Empire welcomed the creation of the mystic Meteor Bows. Curiously later in the era Extraterrestrials arrived in a wondrous vessel to barter at the great Empire Shop, and bringing new materials & goods to the expanding marketplaces.

The latter part of this age saw two haunting events take place as well, with Scary Builds created, as well as a call to its prolific writers to pen their Scary Tales to share with the inhabitants or the realm. Numerous individuals answered the call, and over 30 authors were published for the entertainment of the masses.

Other traditional events once again rounded out the age, again with a flourish of special collectibles and items. Hallows Eve, Christmas, and a flurry of magical fireworks displays to mark an end to this affluent time, and summon in the coming Era…

    Celebration

    Tales beget Legends.

This Age, the Eighth Age, was destined to be a time full of Celebrations and great events. Though the Empire is a pacifistic place, the citizens still greatly enjoyed bloodsports, and the year would unfold with a number of Gladiatorial Games for the bravest souls to take part in, opening with the Umbrella Corp Death Event on day one, hosted by his majesty Aikar.

A tamer note would follow, with the simple release of the new updates by Krysyy, with announcements of prize winners for the various voting and referral contests that were held regularly. Winners of the Star Wars Build contest were announced, with Uber_corq taking first, followed by Roslyn and LuckyGreenBird. Also of importance was the naming of three new members for the ruling council (HxCami10, Melk73, amadai) and special appointment of that renowned hamster, JackBiggin, to the Royal Stream Team for publicity.

The second cycle would arrive with Nick's Evil Reign of Death (N.E.R.D.), followed by celebrations for that special day of love, but with a Shakespearean twist, by Krysyy and ItsMeMattheus at the Valentine Death Event for those wishing to share in a tragic end. Netherspleef would follow, events that would continue regularly along with the Mob Arenas’ in the coming cycles for those wishing to test their mettle again and again. Due to the expected changes in the laws and combat, fight events were even reflected in numerous contests held by normal citizens; Shadow_dcord, ItsMeWolffpack, Dr_Chocolate, Gamemaker888, PeculiarPotato; in addition to numerous private giveaways and drop parties.

The end of the second cycle closed with a monumental moment, with the Announcement of 400,000 individuals now residing in the Empire. The excitement would send ripples through the Empire as word spread of the scavenger hunt being held in the special village, as new and old alike sought out their choice of 10 magic chests to receive a bounty of magical gifts and valuables. I myself had the good fortune to immigrate to these lands while the event was still ongoing due to an extension, leaving me with a lasting and very favorable impression of my new home, followed immediately by a magical Pot of Gold under my own rainbow.

The fourth cycle would begin with a surprise announcement of free-for all fighting through much of the Empire, which fortunately turned out to be naught more than a joke on us fools. However for those who had gotten excited, the high summer would arrive with a plethora of combat events that one could take part in voluntarily, at one’s own peril. It would start Defend The Castle with ElfinPineapple in command, another N.E.R.D. event, followed by Monday Murder in combat against Lady Krysyy to try and take her head. More Creature capture, Mob Arena, and Netherspleef was topped off at the height of summer with the 1 versus 100 Event, where the devilish JackBiggin watched glee as poor souls would enter the arena alone to face 100 zombies for as long as they could last.

More death events would be held for those who hadn’t had enough as yet, and Krysyy again lured citizens into the wastelands where she would hunt down any who dared try their skills against hers, perhaps even a passerby or two caught in the fray. As Walrice was quoted in saying, “Withernado, death, momentus, death, death, explosions, and a little bit of death.” Based on this sort of feedback, I and others were content to join in some of the more pleasant events at that time, such as the Flag Parade and Pineapple Day.

With the arrival of the eight cycle was also the arrival of some delayed celebrations for the 5th Birthday of the Empire. Lady Krysyy decided to celebrate by baking a cake, a little death, some combat, firefloor, mass murder by the aristocracy, trivia games… did I mention death? Of course, all of this involved prizes for those who may have survived the slaughters, but also gifts of cake and cookies for the more timid of heart. As Krysyy was unable to host at the end of the month, B4DMAN5IMON was asked (bribed) to stand in for her, and issued the pleasant announcement of an 80 Seconds Til Death event, gleefully promoted with the tip: “You will die and items will be lost. Bring only what you are happy with loosing.” I imagine several heads were also lost that day.

The autumn months would see some pleasant digging events, turkeys and pumpkins, and the introduction of a new, very popular Halloween Town. This wonderful staff created haunt drew trick-or-treaters from all corners of the Empire to give and get treats, trade for special Jack-o-lanterns, and compete at many levels to be the champion of all Candy Collectors. A special armour, enameled in a custom orange, was additionally sought by those willing to hunt the creatures of the night throughout the event. Aikar also announced a new system for members trading and access to magical Vaults, the reception summed up in a simple sentence by EquableHook; “OMG WHAT IVE BEEN NEEDING THE VAULT GUI!”

As the winter months settled upon us a number of new and enthusiastic citizens joined our architectural and literary teams; samsimx, JDhallows, and fdny21 entered the ruling classes; JesusPower2 was initiated into the inner circle with Aikar and the other mages; while Hashhog, one of the great leaders and patrons of our literature and history, was Knighted by the realm. The 12 days of Christmas were slowly counted down with games, parties, and holidays gifts. The Empire’s masons outdid themselves on the magically decorated Holiday Village, where yet another scavenger hunt was held which provided presents and entertainment in this season of giving.

Despite all of the combat and death events seen throughout this Age, the final celebration would be one of pomp and ceremony, with the grand Royal Wedding celebrated in Utopia; at a venue specially built by DrMadFate; The joining of Krysyy and Ignoramoose was attended by hundreds of faithful citizens dressed in their finest attire…

The grand New Years ball dropped at midnight, ushering in the 9th Age and the Empires 7th year since its founding. Well wishes were announced to the citizens, and once again all were invited to participate in the Time Capsule Event, in order to store away mementos of the year, and pick up or reminisce over the items of times past. The first week alone also saw Death Trivia, PVP with Krysyy the Timelord, and Aikar’s Death Event with special guest BlizzArd.

The 3rd day also saw an additional death, the old Empire Shop which had been located in the desert for so long. It was replaced by the new Shopworld, a modernized place created by Hashhog and the Builders, to sell only special promotions, as the continuous opening of new shops were available from citizens all over the Empire for the sale of regular materials and items in our now massive economy.

Excitement in the Empire exploded on the 15th with the endowment of special titles bestowed upon Eviltoade and JDHallow, joining Dramanya as the new Empire Events Organizers. Hopes ran high for the possibilities of this new Age. This was followed immediately by Lady Krysyy’s 5th Year Party, complete with firefloor and battles, many heads would fall this day.

    “Roses are red,
    violets are blue,
    hearts over your head
from a bow tried and true.”

The Valentines Holiday spread through the Empire as usual with our Cupid Bows, and arrows flying at the Tunnel of Love hosted by JDHallows. Rundercaster was the leading cupid with 17 wins, double that of Sportaflop in 2nd place, and tomtark taking third overall. Meanwhile AlexC was hosting a peaceful and Lovely Edition of Miner Mania with several prizes, and amor for all who attended.

February was also saw the Empires first murder mysteries. Myself and several guests; Sachrock, ttyler333, ChristopherJay and OmarWrongChat ; had all decided to pass some time renting from EvilToade in his swampy mansion, when on 11th day of the second era we discovered to our shock he had been murdered. Dozens of detectives joined us from all around the Empire to investigate. When the Thousand Secrets were finally uncovered, Sachrock was exposed as the culprit, having eyes on acquiring the Toade’s massive estate.

That very same month saw another Murder on the High Seas take place on BurgerKnights ship, which was under investigation for days. The case was finally closed thanks to the great efforts of Jam_11 and BEK11, with pterojackdyl and Bnoofles uncovering many clues as well.

The 3rd era again turned more peaceful and friendly, with a marvelous Easter in store for the citizens and their children. First everyone’s luck improved over Saint Patrick’s with a shiny new Pot of Gold, along with brand new Lucky Rabbits’ Feet. Then our luck would continue with a visit to the Easter Valley. This colourful story gave us the opportunity to aid the Easter Rabbit and her little bunny, for which we were awarded the most delicious chocolate surprises! What could be better than chocolate? All this just days before Hashhog announced the separation of smp8 off into its own server, to be led by independent staff… A Fools Joke…

At this time many inhabitants were also celebrating their years of service in the empire, while others were hosting massive giveaways, scavenger hunts such as Cardman’s and jkrmnj’s, and PlasmaBanana’s giveaway of millions in rupees and promos while in the process of a complete demolition of his residence. The infamous samsimx also made a huge blast with his 5th year 5-million-rupee giveaway.

Mid-year saw the very special launch of the EMC Space Program’s Moon Base, led by our own JDHallows. Those who managed to get through the rigorous training on the moon were additionally granted a Ticket to Mars, all in preparation for the next stage of the program…

Governance of the Empire was becoming more complex with the many changes and updates around the towns and wilds, so shortly after Independence Day came the announcement that Eviltoade and Elfinpineapple were joining the upper ruling classes. This just in time for the two fellows to assist in the upcoming Empire Birthday Events.

This time around the grand party was celebrated over a four-day period. Krysyy and companions decorated a very large cake in colours and motifs, while JDHallows took on trivia at the Hole-in-one Event, and filled Funday with fun times at the smp3 amusement park. The week also saw Netherspleef, Mob Arena, Firefloor, Art Class, and even Staff vs the World… but the big closer was the main event.

Brought back after 3 years, the epic Purple People Party was this Ages main attraction, drawing citizens from all the far corners of the Empires territories. The event caused mass excitement, with great anticipation for all the surprises that would be revealed there, and with the release of a special magic armour, the crowds and collectors were not disappointed! 6 sets of the Purple Power Armour were released, along with 64 new Purple Power Crystals, and a number of special heads, books and vouchers. To date both Roslyn and jewel_king have been the only to collect full suits of the armour.

In the 8th era we saw the expansion of the Empire with its new Games Arenas and residences, including a very popular new Firefloor Arena that would be put to good use over the coming Ages. During the months that followed the ruling class was continually seeing expansion. Skeletin007, Sazukemono, JohnKid, AncientTower, and another addition to the overlords, AlexC__ . Next RogueRevan (WA9ACE) and TheCritic would join the Inner Circle of wizards, more aid to Aikar and his mysteries and magics needed to keep the Empire functioning smoothly.

The time of Hallows Eve was filled with spooky events such as the Haunted Horrors survival, and the Halloween Town with the exchanging of treats and tricks across the empire. Scary costumes and haunted heads could be viewed all over, while several ongoing events took place such as the Pumpkin Carving contest, and the 2017 Share Your Scares with a number of participants.

Thanksgiving turkeys came and went with a new stuffing scooper, and as we entered the middle of the 12th era, the Empire reached an historic half a million population, with FrozenBricks as our honoured 500,000th citizen. In commemoration of this momentous occasion a very special set of gear was released to all the inhabitants, while out in the wastelands snow began to fall, and BlizzArds began their annual onslaught on homesteaders in the wild.

The season would come to a close with the arrival of Vixen, bringing a special holiday axe, and Santa’s Magic Bag full of goodies. Above the skies of the Games world was discovered Skyfrost, discovered by B4DMAN5IMON to have blown in on a cold winter's wind… A magical village where we were all able to enjoy Ice fishing, a scavenger hunt, shopping, and in general ‘chill’ & share with one another in the spirit of giving before the coming Age…
