I was going to bump the Game of Thrones discussion thread now that House of the Dragon has aired but in the end, since these are two different shows based off two different books (and a HoTD watcher might not have seen GoT) and GoT was so bad I can't bear to associate HoTD with it, I decided to make a new one lol Goes without saying: spoilers. Set 172 years before Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is the story of the Dance of Dragons, a civil war amongst the members of House Targaryen that began the family's downfall and led to the extinction of the world's dragons. It is based off George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, a (fictional) history book published in 2018 that follows the reign of Aegon the Conqueror and his descendants until the end of the Dance of Dragons.
