Because the people who frequent the Empire and its accompanying forums are a very fun, dedicated and friendly community of people. It is run by two very great individuals who take the time to get to know their members better and to humanize every player; whether they choose to be nothing more than an Avatar or if they choose to share their IRL photos. The rules are strictly and fairly enforced and no personal favoritism is shown to anyone, not even to a donator over a free player. Follow the rules, and remember the most important one: Just have fun.
erm, i just become a member, that is not like a supporter right, i been waiting to join in almost an hour now :/
Correct, you are a free player. You must pay at minimum $5 to become a supporter. To maintain this status, you must pay every 30 days, otherwise you once again become a free player. There are also $10 and $20 donator options, however you are not required to pay to play on this server. The perks for donators are not significant to cause an imbalance in game play, aside from a larger daily bonus, which is also paid with or without the donator logging in. The additional perk given to the $10 and $20 donators is access to Utopia. This is a special location where night never falls. You are not missing anything by playing as a free member, aside from not being able to access the server when all available slots are full. This is the one bonus shared equally among donators. You pay, you can access even if the server slots are full. So say it is at 45/45, donator chooses to log in. It now becomes 46/45 until another player leaves and the 2 minute grace period times out. If only the one player were to leave and the grace period were to end, it would now read 45/45 and no other free players can join, however any other donator not logged in may log in at this time as well. The cap can be breached, but only by donator players. I am sure that senior moderators and moderators may as well bypass this rule, with or without having donated as they are online to work and not play. Hope this helps out. I am only providing you with information I have been able to locate and remember. I have been here a while. I am considering applying for a staff position, however I do not know that I can contribute as much as may be required... Time will tell.. Enjoy your stay in the Empire. Head over to smp2.empireminecraft.com to try and claim as residence before they are all gone.
I hate being a stickler, No wait I LOVE IT, I lost my diamond membership and I only got 29Days to have it, When I got it,it never said PER MONTH.
I am sorry but it has always said per month. The supporters subscription page says per month right above each subscribe button: http://empireminecraft.com/account/upgrades also when you checkout with PayPal it tells you it is monthly. I will attach a screen shot.
Whenever i try to get on server it always is like 42/45 or 43/45 or even 44/45, but it still tells me free slots full? Also, it always lets new players on into tutorial, Are they really more important than actual members of EMC, I watched server member list and 10 dif people went through tutorial that didnt have acc's and they kept getting on, But not me...
I am sorry, we are trying our best to keep up with our popularity. We are working on launching another two servers. The reason why you can't get on when it says less than 45 are on is that we reserve your spot for 60 seconds when you disconnect. That way if it was an error you can get back on After the minute the slot is opened back as a free slot.
Fair enough, Just one thing, why is limit 45 and not 50, 45 is kinda a random number, and i think 50 isnt a big change to strain on server, i think that might help to facilitate more people, i dont think it would stay as heavily full as 45. But fair enough, I am also gunna buy a subscription soon diamond sub here i come, near future. Great server keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot ahead of time for supporting. 45 wasn't really picked randomly, actually the perfect number was 46 (measuring statistics for several days and trying different levels). We do have some things that put a lot of load on a server, like our nice Residence system (the server is keeping track of movements and building with 1,500 residences on each smp server). Hopefully as we can squeeze more performance out of the MC server software we can open some more slots. Until then our best option is to add more servers to the Empire. We are launching Utopia1 today and smp3 in the next few days hopefully
But when you become a supporter you pay to have the opportunity to always get in the server, and you need more supporters to hire a bigger server so the non-supporters can get in easier? why should you pay to get more room for the non-paying players?
Its not so much that you are paying for a non playing player. Its just that with more supporters we can buy more servers As popular as we are I think even if we added 10 new smp servers they would be full .
The benefit to becoming a supporter is justified by your love for the server. Do not look at it as "I pay so others can play" but rather as "I love this server and I would like others to enjoy it as much as I do. This is my way of spreading the joy that is the Empire."
yes i understand that, its like you sell some old stuff for your soccer club... but like i mentioned its also to give the owner more money for some more servers...
I'd like to support the server but first of all i don't have a job now and second i'm just the regular builder who says nothing and just enjoys gaming and the community of a server !
