I was looking through the old forum games, most of which are probably long forgotten, and decided I wanted to revive a few of them, one or two with a set of modified rules. One that really stuck out for me was nfell's "Username as countries" game, and I want to start it again with a set of modified rules. Credit to nfell for this idea and most of the rules. Rules: - you can do your username or your real name or both. - must be the English-language names for sovereign states. this includes the 193 UN member states, however also includes other disputed states such as Abkhazia, Kosovo, Palestine, etc. this means that places like England or Greenland does not count! - exception to the above rule: the rule is nullified for the letters W and X, meaning that places like Wales or Xina (China in Catalan) count. - you can use the same country twice, but try not to! - for numbers, use the first letter of that number in long form (e.g., 3 could be Thailand) - try not to google it - be creative - have fun! Example: my username could be: Wales Andorra France Finland Laos Estonia Cyprus Oman Fiji France Ethiopia Eritrea And my IRL name could be: Somalia Yemen Dominican Republic Netherlands El Salvador Yemen Let the games begin!
Tunisia Oman Montenegro Vatican City Albania North Macedonia Wales Iceland Japan Netherlands Estonia Namibia (Nambia ) I've been to four of these, and in 2 or 3 days to five. It's slightly more difficult to do this as a Dutch person, as some letters switch when moving to English: Oostenrijk would've fit, but that's Austria... How about Northern Ireland?
Russia Uzbekistan Namibia Nicaragua Italy (Would love to go here) New Zealand Greece (Would love to go here) Rwanda Haiti (Been here) Iran North korea Oman (had to look this one up, only O apparently)
*controversial statement here* It's part of the UK, technically... but as someone with large parts of ancestry tracing back to Ireland, I do have opinions on this...
Been there multiple times, Italy is fantastic! Going there in approximately a week. I am expecting it to be good, though. Yes, that's what I meant, it should've been listed there. Italy has had its odd leaders too, so it's not that far off.
Luckily for both of us it won't be for much longer! Also question: why don't the countries in the UK count? They're still countries Serbia Oman Uzbekistan Liberia Pakistan Ukraine Nicaragua Italy Saint Lucia Hungary Ethiopia Romania
I don't know. I guess I just prefer 'countries' to mean 'sovereign states' because in my mind, England, Scotland, etc. are just constituencies of the actual 'country' of the UK. I know this explanation is probably not satisfactory and that the English are very different from the Scottish and so on but in my mind, they're all one country.
