  1. I literally didn't see a single person ask for/complain about any of these until the 1.9 update was announced, then all of a sudden everyone was like "Yeah, we totally need that!" I personally hate the changes as someone who loves(d) the combat aspect of minecraft.
  2. Boats have always been a major complaint. Specifically the random deaths by falling that can occur.
Otherwise, the other things have only been a relatively smaller group lobbying for these other features.

  3. Wait. What kind of situation do you have to be in to die by falling out of a boat?

  4. I agree by the players' standpoints.

Ever since I saw the combat changes in August, I've been trying to tell people:
practice. Practice the new combat in singleplayer or a small server in 1.9.

  5. No group other than you tubers have a say anymore. The you tubers promote the game for free and Mojang caters to them. By doing so, they are alienating the majority of the player base who don't stand behind these you tubers. If Mojang keeps this up, Minecraft won't last for more than another two years.
  6. You couldn't be more wrong.

    They pay attention to that.

    And plenty others.

  7. you don't fall out of the boats. Just saying that boats have been broken since ever.
  8. Yea, right. MS has a history of pushing out products without fully testing. Examples: Everything they've ever produced.... ;)

  9. I believe people used to get stuck in a block or something when exiting a boat, and the server would count that as falling. When the player is finally free, the player takes fall damage.

Other than that, there used to be a big gap between client-side boats and server-side boats. You would get off your boat to get to Hawaii and end up in the middle of Russia.
Also, the new boats don't break and are a good speed, but they can sink when encountering a water block that is above the one they are currently on.

  10. All those are relatively insignificant and non-game changing things. I didn't even know some of them were changed. Changing the whole combat system in a game like this is revolutionary. They asked Mindcrackers - docm, Guude, etc. about PvP changes rather than actual regular PvPers. That is not acceptable.
  11. How dare they not ask the masses.

  12. 1.9.1 has been officially released! States in the update notes that they did try to improve server performance, so hopefully they made enough changes that the EMC dev team can take it from here and release 1.9 within a week or two. While I also do not like certain aspects of 1.9 (combat changes), the cool things that are in it outweigh, imo, any negative opinions I may have of it. Also, I think that the combat changes will make the game more interesting, even though it is very different from previous minecraft versions. It will take time to get used to them, but eventually everyone will get the hang of it.
  13. EMC 1.9 update could be ideal to try again now.
I'm playing 1.9.1 singleplayer, and I haven't seen any of the chunk errors I saw in the 1.9.1 pre-releases and 1.9. In those versions, some chunks would fail to render even when you were right next to or inside of them.

There are plenty of screenshots around, if you don't get what I'm talking about.

I also know Akair mentioned this issue when it was one.

  14. Wait a minute... 1.9.2 is out as well? I was checking the "edit profile" and in the "Use Version:" 1.9.2 has also been released

  15. I'd never estimate a timeline for another set of devs ;) just saying, there is always more to consider even when you are in the dev team doing the changes...only the bad PMs I have ever make estimates for our people on how long to implement changes.

So hold onto your hat and give them time, there is bound to be a bunch of considerations still.

  16. The only reason why I said one to two weeks was because when 1.9 was originally released, the dev team said it would be up to two weeks. Since then, they have continued to work on 1.9 so that when 1.9.1 was released (and now 1.9.2) they would already have some of the work done. Ergo, I assumed that, barring any more extreme issues, it would 'hopefully' take no more than one or two weeks.

However, I was not setting a timeline, as I said
I never said that they were going to release it that soon, only that I hoped they would release it that soon, as long as Mojang fixed majority of the issues. Yes, if there are any major issues that still need work, then it may take longer than two weeks.

  17. the new "realistic staring mechanic"is junk and u did fall out of them every time u load a chunk that came from before the 1.8 update -_- i should know i took a 50k from spawn boat trek and it broke many many times -_-

  18. I assume you mean steering mechanic for boats? That was reverted back to WASD.
  19. o thank heavens the new 1 from the snapshots was horrible it as so buggy and u would go crazy at random
  20. There was connectivity issues with mine realms in the 1.9.1 client. 1.9.2 was the patch
