Wow so many great ideas, I'm going to try and use all of them, I think it's that the using things like skulls on the ground sounds pretty neat That could inflict flame damage which could be interesting All cool ideas, throwing tacos sounds nice
I think I saw another thread you posted describing a 2D platform game. In my opinion, a dungeon describes both a visual setting and a game type and I think most 2D platform games fall into the dungeon category so I was asking for more detail. Tomb Raider and Metroid, for example are quite different but both what I would consider dungeons. Is the main character a he or she? Human? Where are they from? Is the setting past, present, or future? I guess I'll stick with my original suggestion of a weapon that returns to the thrower, like a boomerang. If your character doesn't fit something like that, it could be a magic shuriken or rubber ball.
How about a Bola. It is like short rope that ends as 2 ropes with a ball or weight on the ends. It spins as its thrown and wraps around the victim (legs for example) tripping or ensnaring them.
What do you mean Snowballs already exist? He posted the comment with cool ideas, and nobody suggested a snowball before him? (Also btw a snowball will be added )
If you throw bananas at them, they might get some goo in their face or the classic... they'll slip on the banana
