  1. I do not.
I'm not sure where you might got that impression.
    They do exist, yes.

What I dislike is (I'm not saying that any of that originates from you)
    - making too much drama about border cases (1% ?), creating paranoid psychosis
    - based on border cases, justifying measures that have more negative impact in the end
    - oversimplifying and distorting reality
    - trying to make or select "better humans", homophobia
    - "good vs. evil", "black vs. white" thiking

    And also
    - ignoring basic human rights
    - ignoring available knowledge, ignoring science, refusing to learn
    - pretending
    - violence, system violence
    - arbitary rules, random rules, making rules wihtout thorough resoning
    - resignation, narrow-mindedness

BTW, to explain why I'm advocating thoughtful dealing with stealing and griefing:

It is not that I like spoiled kids and griefers that much. Not at all.

It did happen to almost every kid to be on the griefing or stealing side sometimes.
So almost every kid can think "that could be me."
"Am I still protected in this community if I fail sometimes?"

I like when people can feel safe and respected.

  2. ...what?
  3. - creating paranoid psychosis
"They plan to attack us. We need to defend ourselves. We're not safe. They are out there. They just wait for an opportunity."

    - oversimplifying and distorting reality
"It is 100% your fault if you give permissions."

    - trying to make or select "better humans", homophobia
"Griefers are simply bad people. When we ban griefers we've solved the problem."

    - ignoring basic human rights
Statements that EMC is by no means bound to respect human rights. (Before Aikar took over.)

    - ignoring available knowledge, ignoring science, refusing to learn
    - pretending
"We know better. Trust us." (And then no further explanations / reasoning.)

    - violence, system violence
E.g. Censorship. Silencing criticism. (Especially before Aikar took over.)
  4. This is just my 2 cents but I think some of you guys are blowing this whole griefing discussion into too extreme proportions. From trying to theorize as to what drives a griefer right down to start personal comments / attacks regarding the other person.

Personally I also think that this discussion is going into endless loops now and is a wee bit pointless because it has already been suggested that there are plans in the making to allow established outposts to get the same kind of protection as we have in town (to a rough extend anyway). That would most surely end most of the griefing problems in the Frontier.

And as to griefing in general: you'll never be able to fully stop that, so I personally don't see the point in taking the discussion this far. There will always be people who don't care about the rules or the community and who will only focus on their own (perhaps twisted) pleasures. It's a given.

So... I think we should leave it here. At least that's what I plan to do.
