2025 Wrapped, St Patrick, and Misc Updates - 3/18/2026

We have a new update released this afternoon! This update has a lot of small fixings and improvements on the backside. But to take the podium are two promotional things!

Back at the end of December, some Discord conversations were had about how "everyone" online was doing some type of end of year wrapped thing. I thought to myself, "Hey, we could do that. That could be really easy." Well, it ended up being a lot more work than I planned, but I have brought the first (and last) EMC Wrapped! (I mean, I could bring it back - but let's plan on me not...)

Claimable now through the end of 2026 using the in-game command /2025wrapped, each and every player can claim a special book signed by Empire Minecraft which is personalized to you.
When you claim it, one of three things is going to occur...
1) You are going to have a book which includes some special recognitions that you topped statistical marker in the year 2025 on EMC.
2) You joined before this year started and you will have a 2 page book commemorating you, but no special recognitions.
3) You joined in 2026 and you will receive a 1 page book as a simple commemorative token.

Only 193 EMC players fall in that first category. Receiving one or multiple of 27 unique awards.

If you want, share with others what your personalized book contains. These are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. They are final and soulbound.

Now, the other thing. The St Patricks Day promo. St Patrick's Day was yesterday. And overnight we had a visit from some Leprechauns. And before they left, they left behind their Shillelagh. At first glance it looks like Gold? You will have to be the judge for yourself. Surely they wouldn't be so clumsy so as to leave gold behind?!?

This promo will remain claimable till at least through the end of April.

Now some notes on code changes...

Bug Fixes and Updates.

• Improved eggification for Zombie Nautilus and Camel Husk
• Maybe fixed an issue with random animals attacking people in a Difficulty 10 fight... (thought that is a funny thought)
• Improved the command feedback when multiple residence permissions are set at once.
• Disable the creation of Restrict signs. Temporarily deprecating them in hopes that something less confusing is found. - that people don't get so confused about.
  (the specific issue since they were added is people thinking they worked opposite to how they actually worked).
  If you have one in place - it should still operate as normal
• Fixed a bug in Diamond Horse Armor / Netherite Nautilus Amor shop signs.
  You should be able to create these signs properly now.
• Removed the legacy color codes from the /colors command.
• Heavily refactored the AntiGrief code. This refactoring should allow me to do things such as... assign an Empire as owner of antigrief blocks. (That is not implemented, but the refactor makes that possible)
• Reduce the combat timer to 15 seconds before you can sleep in a bed. I don't think I could sleep right away after heavy combat either.
• Exempt you from any recent combat logic if you have died since last attacking.
• Added some code to better convert some broken wolf spawn eggs that don't spawn according to what their lore says they should. (a bug that existed for like 1 day)
• Better prevent item dropping on item:drop false residences using EMC custom interfaces.
• Happy Ghasts should break leads less often.
• Updated various 3rd party plugins that should have other stability improvements.

I also merged in some code from Socks related to Mobarena, netherspleef, and other future events.

Okay, I think I am done editing in stuff about the bug fixes and updates included with this.

A commentary on the upcoming mojang update to 26.1. They are in the pre-release stage. Truthfully, I have not started on that update yet. I can make no guarantees on how long it will be. /shrug

Note. There is a known bug where play.emc.gs is always sending people to smp1. I'm not sure what is going on with that. It is on the top of my todo list.

Edit: I reverted the bungee changes. I will have to investigate this issue more.

Wow, a huge amount of effort has certainly gone into all this once again, thanks to chickeneer and all the others involved for continuing to make EMC a great home away from home.

Ps. I love books, bet nobody knew THAT already.

The books will generate with your name at the time of claiming. There will not be a method of updating them if you change your name.

As indicated. I will share the various awards, after all of them have been publicly shared.
I will not be sharing a public list of "who" received what. That's for each individual to share if they should so choose.
