That was my main problem when I tried out linux. Amd doesn't care and never supports the latest xorg and the open source drivers are painfully slow. WiFi only worked on fedora( but the amd drivers don't ) and refused to work elsewhere. If you do need linux, try virtual box with a basic arch installation. Pretty much anything that requires Linux will be command line based so just having the Linux cli is useful.
