The Leprechaun is a great idea especially where we have to go out and find it. This mob made me think of holiday mobs from the past. Did we ever have an angry rabbit chucking exploding carrots for Easter? Mar 18, 2024

I haven't updated my status in a while, having too much fun in the Frontier with friends really makes the time fly. Oh yeah, there is even more sand for sale in my shop for those that need it and rock, err, sand bottom prices!

I’m gonna need a little sand for an upcoming build next year. How much you got?

Been so busy irl, I haven’t had much mc time in a couple weeks, but I need to swing on by and grab sand while it’s in! Tomorrow evening I will try! Thank you for advertising!

My shop has a decent supply of sand now, for those looking to craft tnt. My stats indicates I have mined 1.28 million pieces of sand so far and since I only play on emc that means I have depleted many deserts.

For the past year or so I was writing staus messages just to keep the staus alive. There is a lot of grwat activity now, I've gotten kind of lazy andand sat back to read what others are posting. It's nice.

Getting kicked while afk in town due to server lag used to bother me. After going for about three years with no server lag due to low numbers of neighbor's really makes me appreciate the kicks.

In 2021, one person lagged SMP8 every day for 16 hours from January until the end of May. We couldn’t do anything about it, even with all the proof we had.

I think the two new flowers are the best ones yet in the game. The torchflower has a rainbow of brilliant color and the way some of them grow off center in the block really fills in an area. My irl garden is almost a total flop so I'm finding growing in EMC satisfying.

We received another 2" of rain yesterday along with two tornado warnings. I've been digging drainage ditches in the garden but there is so much subsoil moisture the ditch never fully drains.

Yeah, the water table has stayed pretty high here too. As for the flowers, I agree! Bringing them back to life could be a pretty good way to liven up the wooded badlands (which I suspect were probably their ancient native habitat from a lore perspective).

Are Allays intentionally designed to be annoying? They are the most distracted "helpers" I've ever seen. I ended up building a solid box around the Sniffer farm with just one hole in it for a redstone signal to enter. Now where do you think the Allays went first!? 🙂

Flying mobs path find to holes. Some blaze farm designs use this mechanic actually to get the blazes to the kill box without the need of pistons. I imagine that mechanic passed on to other flying creature’s behavior

True I was using hopper minecarts with 6 Sniffers then I saw someone in chat mention using allays. Now that I'm scalling up the number of Sniffers I figured Allays would be esier. I eventually want to get to 100 Sniffers but I don't know how much area they will need to wander.

That's interesting about path finding to holes. Since an Allay was basically put in game to help gather wouldn't you think that path finding to escape would have been considered counter productive?

Ah let's see, latest status. Built a bamboo farm to harvest a good amount of bamboo for blocks. It's for sale in my shop but is kind of unintentionally hidden, I'll add signs later. The Sniffers finally grew up but, wow, they are slow in whatever they do....

I used a string trimmer the other day to clear some tall brush in the yard, finally. Hit a bit of poison ivy. I'm now going crazy trying not to scratch the wicked itch, all over. A summer just isn't complete until I get into a patch of ivy. The yard looks like a lush jungle biome, emerald green. Just need some moss hanging from the trees.

As for your yard, yeah, it sure does! We have an actual jungle behind our house, though. Not a tropical one, of course, but in reality, most equatorial rainforests are technically groves, while real jungles are more common in subtropical, temperate and subpolar areas.

I think we are now close to 16" of total rainfall for this month. If I was a kid I would have had a blast gathering all the rain coming out of the gutters. I wouldn't have enough buckets to contain it all but I would be rich with water.

Yeah, did you know? In Minecraft, fire spread is limited in the maritime climate of mushroom fields. The only other biomes with reduced fire spread are swamps (I'm not sure whether that applies to mangrove too) and jungles, which makes sense given the high water table and warm, humid and stormy climate respectively.

16 inches is a lot! I remember, we got 21 inches of rain in February 2019. It was raining almost constantly for a lot of the month. That was very unusual even for the rainforests of Southern Appalachia. Still, I'm thankful that we didn't get twenty inches in a day like poor McEwen did in August 2021!

Yeah. We were having a bit of a dry spell for a time in early June, but we've had few rainless days in the weeks since. Tennessee is even rainier than AR, but this is still unusual, even during the stormiest months. But El Nino is here, and the sea is warmer than usual; bringing the jet stream south and heating up the Gulf are sure ways to bring more storms to TN!

I find it interesting how sometimes something that is in absolutely plain view can be not seen. The most recent example of this is the count down timer. On the desktop is appears as a series of 2 digit numbers...

On my phone it is displayed as 2 rows of numbers, stacked vertically. I couldn't see it as one counter that uses vertically formatted numbers. I posted about it then showed my son. He instantly looked at me like I was a goof. Once he explained it I couldn't see it the other way. Moral of this story...A brain is a powerful thing, if you know how to use it.

I'm a farmer in real life. I used to be the Sr. Diagnostic Software Engineer for an image processing company.

I took the picture below in 2020. People enjoy sunflowers so I grow as many as possible each year.

That's the upper part of my field and my house in the background.
