AutoHotkey is fairly simple for simple tasks though, is it not?

Be careful, automating more than one button to click at a time sounds like it may violate the macro rules for EMC. We allow you to automate one action per click, similar to leaving a weighted item on said key.

That makes sense. I used to use tape for the process but did not have any tape sticky enough in my house atm. Looks like I will need to go buy some (used tape to tape down both mouse clicks). Thanks!

If you're allowed to use tape, you should also be allowed to use a macro, if I've understood the scope of the macro rules.

Not sure if tape is allowed or that is a stretch of the rules too? Always figured tape was fine since I would always be at my computer and would hear a chat notification, the tape was just so I didn't have to manually do it.

According to the Rules page I'm pretty sure it would be, but there have been many cases where Krysyy's final say deviated from the clear rules, alas.

It's the clicking of 2 things at once that seems problematic in what AmusedStew is wanting to set up. Macro usage should not be used to totally automate gameplay.

I doubt farming wood is the only thing AmusedStew does on EMC. ;)

I "love" how the rules are still so unclear to basically everyone. :)

@Stew: I've wondered this as well. I tried it with macros a while (more than a year) ago but could never find anything that worked. I believe I ended up using a macro for left clicking and putting something on my mouse/keyboard for right clicking (so I didn't have to put two things on my mouse/keyboard), but I only had to do a little bit so I didn't want to spend too much time on it. :P

The rules are simple. If you are doing more than the equivalent of leaving a book on a key, then it's more than you could do. If we have to, we'll just disallow them all. Macros are meant to just save you from repetitive one-click interactions. When you start getting into making something so you can read while 'farming', that's not the purpose we allow them. Will be revisiting with 1.15 anyways...

So then what Stew wants to do is fine. :) The reason I said that is that both of your replies had a certain uncertainty in them ("may", "seems"), and that multiple players weren't sure. :)
I'm curious now: if you're willing to share, what are the reasons for revisiting with 1.15?

General re-visitation after an update. Most updates we do include a re-visitation of most rules, in case there need to be updates to the rules/policies specific to way blocks work, etc

Ah, interesting, thanks. Seems very thoughtful but probably sometimes frustrating to do. ;)

Auction rules the players are always wanting updated immediately, so we try to do our best to get the updates out first for those.

I hope I'll remember to recheck the rules a few months after the update, then, if I don't hear anything more about it. ;) The rules on the Rules page should reflect the actual rules, of course, especially if they're so simple.
