Nah it's not too bad, literally just a 3 hour train ride away from Liverpool... that said I'll be like, less than an hour away from Jake so if you want to make it even easier for all of us come to Wales :p
Nah the North West and North Wales are pretty well connected to Liverpool, so it's only £60, and with my student discount it'll be £30-£40. If I tried to go to Manchester though, which is another 20 minutes, it goes all the way up to £80-£100 lmao
You just don't get it. We Brits want to work harder than the Chinese and get paid less and pay more for our public transport, because companies are great, totally non-exploitative, and like the goddess Thatcher and the absolute boys Blair and Brown and the sausage lover Cameron have said since 1974, we must give them access to everything because... erm... glory to Richard Branson?
Hahahaha, indeed. :P I'm sure all the Brits loved the privatisation of the trains, was such a great idea, am still impressed by its successfulness... :D
Me too! It's going to cost me £100 to get to Dublin in October to meet the girl I love if I take a train to the airport, and the plane is only 20% of that price! Literally getting the bus over to an island in the Irish Sea and taking a ferry to Dublin is cheaper so I'll do that, but privatisation was an absolute roaring success and makes travel by train so much more appealing.
Yes, exactly. :P For those in the UK I'd recommend buses and planes, despite my great liking for trains. -- actually you genuinely should go by plane lmao I just checked skyscanner and it was like 21 euros to get from Liverpool to Dublin by Ryanair, that's ridiculous lol
By the way, congratulations on getting to meet her soon! :)
Nah the train costs to get from North Wales to Liverpool dwarf the flight cost. I really might as well use my Welsh free bus pass to get to Ynys Môn and get the £30 boat to Dublin and stay in a hostel overnight for 20€ :P
But yeah I'm really happy to finally have a plan for meeting her finally. We just need the date in October that she can book off and is ideal for her friend, and we're all good to go. It's nice to have one of our plans work out for once lmao (just jinxed it oops)
@mba nah lmao it's not a problem, I just like cutting costs where I can... unless you genuinely want to visit the crackhouses of Sir y Fflint in which case woohoo
Ah yes the boat from Holyhead, yeah that sounds much cheaper and more fun indeed. :) One second after posting I realised that you wouldn't be in Liverpool anymore. :P
Yeah I'm really happy for you that it seems to be working out so far, have fun. :D
I'm also quite curious where you'll be studying at now. Is it Bangor?
