Which is fine by me. Logically DST makes no sense in the modern world and its continued existence causes me more hassle than fun. Unfortunately my country won't get this ban and for some reason the newspapers here got unreasonably angry at the EU for voting to abolish it.
Being on summertime all the time would mean the sun would only come up at 9:45 in the winter. No thanks to that. Being on wintertime all the time would mean the sun would come up at 4:something in the summer. No thanks to that. We should really just keep DST, else that ^ mess will occur.
In the winter the sun rises at 8am and finishes about 9ish, sets at 2pm, completely dark by 3:30ish. In the summer it rises at 4:30am and sets at 10-11pm.
I guess you're right, Tom. I used to be against DST just because of having to change the clocks and such, but I do actually like it being dark earlier in Winter and light later in Summer.
@Soul: that sounds broken. Seems like you actually need more or different DST. ;)
@607: yup, that is what I think many people aren't realising; how ridiculous the sun's rising/setting time is when we don't have DST. Thinking about it, I'm kind of surprised they only thought of it in the 1900s, seeing how big of an improvement it has on being able to live in the light.
