I suspect that this was intentional on the person, but of course it might not have been; unintentional collissions also happen, maybe even more often (media probably give intentional train deaths more coverage)
Let's be honest, in order to be hit by a train you either have to be on the absolute top of extremely stupid, or suicidal (or somehow have found some sort of "loophole" in that you have been hit while not being extremely stupid, though this doesn't happen often).
I mean, trains are on a seperate track, especially in the Netherlands often surrounded by fences, with always visible and almost always audible indication and a physical barrier when there is a train. Thinking about it, it would surprise me if suicide accounts for less than 75% of the accidents.
It sound a bit weird, but really, if you're going to commit suicide, please do it in a way so that people who don't even know you won't get affected by it.
(I added the "people who don't even know you" because in the case of suicide, people close to you will always be affected, no matter how its done - I just think you shouldn't trouble other people with your, admittedly really terrible, worthy of professional treatment, issues. I mean, a part of your day was shattered to pieces because of it. I don't at all mean to offend the person to whom it happened, but still. :/.
