I can probably work my way out of the GBF zone if I really am there. It's not really that hard to do once you drive the point of "I only seem gay because I do things to make you like me" home. Kind of done it before.
In Doctor Who Amy thought Rory was gay until she realised he was into her. I remember that I told myself "damn I want to find the girl I marry like that" when I saw it. Maybe this is how it happens.
Talk about other girls. Establishes that you're heterosexual and could make her jealous? Could also make her seem like you're not into her though. Whatever you do, just try to get out of the friend zone before its too late and you're forever trapped >.<
I've talked about other girls with her (only two - one was someone I talked to 3-4 years ago, the other is the person I liked before I met her lol) and I've complimented her a buttload - one time she sent me a full body picture, told me to look at her 'chubby' legs, I said 'whoops didn't see them', she was all like 'so you were looking at my boobs? ;)' and I was like 'yeah'.
I got brownie points from her best friend last night after an argument in which I stuck up for them both and utterly roasted the guys arguing with them. Her best friend promised to no longer call me gay (she has also stated before that she 'ships Jimena', which is mine and the girl I'm chatting up's ship name... dunno why we have one). I hope this means good things.
My girlfriend's best friend is probably the main reason she gave me a chance in the first place. If you are close with her best friend, that means a lot. I really cannot stand "shipping", but what I've learned is that you just have to go along with it.
