I was tempted by the Coolpix at first but I do videos too and the D3200 was better for that and allowed me much more range that I really need! I would love to upgrade to one that can record 1080p at 60 frames but they're super expensive - D3200 does 720p at 50 frames so it's not too bad!
I just had a look and it can. Ouch, I should have waited eh :P Having a look around, they're £200 to £300... I might have to see if I can go back to the store I got the D3200 from and ask what I'd have to pay if I handed in the used D3200 for a D3300! Not sure if it's worth the upgrade yet though, my videos still turn out well :P
FDNY - Personally with photography/videography it's not what you use, but how you use what you have to work with ;) I can take a simple camera with a few settings adjustments and mess with it to get good pictures.
Hannah - The L840 is awesome, but not a full photographer camera.. Always stick with Nikon because Canon has been a bit in a downhill spiral for past 3-4 years now
Compared to Nikon, I'd say that Canon isn't as good value for money to be honest... I can use the D3200 fairly well, been using it for almost a year now, but the extra video settings would help on the D3300 would improve it as it would give my YouTube videos better quality and better frames!
