  1. On July 4th ( tomorrow ) lets all ( citizens of the US ) change our profile picture to the american flag so we can remember our freedom, if you don't your pretty much saying you don't care about our nations freedom ( unless your from a different nation ). I will do the same and change it
  2. The U.S. has no freedom.
  3. So not doing what you suggest makes you unpatriotic? No.
Just because you suggest something, it does not mean every US citizen should do it. I'm sure every single american citizen cares about their freedom, but how they choose to express that is their own choice -which can be shown in different ways other than changing a profile picture :p
  4. This heavily made me not want to do it.
  5. Oh no.. I just wanted to do this for fun... hate comes now,,,
EDIT: slash, u kinda left out the part that says "Unless your from a different nation"
  6. Well then maybe you shouldn't say that people are ungrateful for what they have if they don't do something you tell them to do.

I'm changing mine to the Union Flag just to annoy people :p
  7. Well I'm not from another nation, I've lived in the US all of my life. I don't not care about my nations freedom because I don't want to change a picture on the internet.
  8. That's not hate in my opinion... Look at it this way: you're more or less saying that your fellow Americans don't care for their country if they don't follow your suggestion, and obviously some won't like such 'accusations'. In the end you're more or less forcing this on them.

Maybe it's not how you meant it, but that's how it looked to me and some others as well it seems...
  9. Pft, I gave you the idea.

  10. Im asking staff to close the thread, just wanted people to have fun :(
  11. You did make it sound quite forced upon. As if not changing your avatar meant you don't like the 'freedom' you're given.
  12. Nah, don't feel bad. Why not rephrase your initial post and try again?

If at first you don't succeed.. I'm sure no one is blaming you personally, in fact I'm quite sure of that. They only responded to the way you worded it. Patriotism is a big thing in the US (as far as I know) so obviously these things can be a little sensitive. I'd say: rephrase your suggestion a bit, cut out the part about "if you don't follow, then..." and I'm sure you'll get better responses.

  13. Done!
  14. That isn't the Americans flag.

Edit: I actually find that offensive

  15. I could say the same thing about a lot of what you say.
  16. May I suggest that we don't let this get out of control / off topic and that we go back to the 4th of July?

Nothing wrong with expressing an opinion in my opinion (that sounded weird) but some things are best discussed in private and not using public forums. Especially when you dislike someone, then it's probably best to either ignore them or simply try to talk it over with them. But not in a thread where it's kinda offtopic.

Just my 2 cents; but honest, lets try not to derail this....
  17. I find you offensive.

Seriously, are we starting this argument again? Please just keep your homophobic thoughts to yourself. The world is better without them.
  18. Thread's host has requested it be closed, so that's what I'm doing. I won't even comment on the state of the thing.
